Although I'm not sure about it being on next gen consouls, I haven't heard anything about a PS4 and I think the heard the next gen X-box was being delayed till 2014 ---->http://tech2.in.com/news/console/next-gen-xbox-consoles-delayed-till-2014/422122 bit still Dr.Freeman might be comming back sometime next year. Half-Life fans rejoyce :celebration:

Still it's better then nothing I guess. But I will say the whole open world thing is kinda reused cause I heard the same thing when HL2:E2 came out.

Sounds like a joke. Open world Half Life? Unlikely. The current Source engine can't even handle large maps. If they do make an open world game I doubt it would be Half Life.

This article is nothing but a pile of rumors and hearsay, nothing we haven't seen before. And as povuholo said, an open world Half-Life sounds extremely unlikely.

I'll buy it if it doesn't have Alex in it.

Then again, the arrival of each new Half-Life has heralded a new Source engine iteration. This would certainly explain what they've been doing all this time.

Then again, the arrival of each new Half-Life has heralded a new Source engine iteration. This would certainly explain what they've been doing all this time.

Yeah. I'm sticking to my theory that they're waiting at the very least until the next console generation and the rumoured 'Source 2' engine. Neither will probably be here next year.

Hmmm... gearing up for hardware production next year. As well as the fact they loved the occulus. Could they be trying to make some sort of... litteral open world virtual reality game involving half life? Would they be mad enough to try something like that?

Valve doesn't seem to be the kind of company that would stick to arbitrary conventions like that.
