Is it rude to subject others to your taste in music while dr

People replacing game audio with whatever music they listen to in youtube gameplay videos annoys the hell out of me.

I force all my friends to listen to Rammstein. Your car, your rules.

Rules of the road.

Your car, your rules.

If your in someone else's car and you decide to change the station without permission you should be slapped for being rude.

you should play Rebecca Black.

I think that's past it's prime. We had our fun with that during tech school. Every Friday morning someone would blast FRIDAY in their dorm room while showering and such...LOL

Just as long as people on the street or in cars nearby don't have to listen, it's all good.

Seriously, set the volume so your friends can talk and play what you want.

While it is your car, it's rather easy to lose on travelling companions really quick if you only play what you want with no consideration of others. I went out for a ride with a friend and some late 50 something guy, and that guy blared some weird evil death metal and it was really pissing me off. I'm purposely trying to avoid getting back in that vehicle of horrors.

Hmm. Yeah two of the guys are religious so I decided to leave Marilyn Manson off the playlist. Not that he's necessarily bad for religious people, but that's the perception anyway.

One guy's from the Philippines, the other from Haiti... Not sure if they listen to rock there... We'll find out :)

No, you have to be in the car to request that.

I've been meaning to put http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-V2IeJc_QI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmmna3P7Qk4 on my driving playlist too. :shifty:

Just make sure your shuffle doesn't do anything to embarrass you, like following a Sabbath with an 'N Sync. :P

This is why I'm making a playlist :) Not that I have anything embarrassing. I have some rap and such and I'm like if that plays they'll probably make me keep playing it...lol

I made a point of doing stuff like that. Well, following Sabbath with Abba, maybe.

Having been a passanger once on a five hour trip with techno blasting at high volume for at least three of those five hours, it's dependable. If it's a short trip, play whatever you want, but if it's a long one, be considerate.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Any trip longer than 20 or so minutes, then you should be considerate. (at a time, so if it's 20 minutes one way, spend a few hours, and 20 minutes back, play whatever you want the entire time)

Gah I had to listen to 50 Cent the whole way to Boise last weekend.... :/ This calls for revenge :)
Really? That calls for escalation not merely revenge. 50 cent is a joke. If you can handle it either 'I'm too sixy for my clothes', 'I'm a Barbie Girl', or both on loop should do the trick. They will get either one stuck in their head. Though this approach lacks subtlety. Country Instrumentals might get the job done if you have Pandora...

If I have to listen to club [censored] then they have to listen to some swing for a while, not modern "swing" like Michael Buble either, proper mustic like Ted Heath and Bobby Darin.

I hook my iPod up and if I've got friends in the car, whoever is in the passengers seat holds the iPod. They can sort out what gets played next among themselves. I have a wide variety of tracks, and being my friends, they more or less agree upon something.

And I'm okay with whatever, it's my playlist. :P

Pretty much what everyone else says. If your friends need to rely on you for a ride, then they don't have any right to complain about what you do.

I don't take any [censored] when my friends need a ride. If they're shouting or screwing around I tell them that I won't drive them anymore :P.

Maybe Dancing Queen and Air Dance for different approaches to similar subject matter, but I'm just being nerdy now.

Your car, your rules. I'd maybe stay away from songs that I know my travel mates hate, but at the same time I wouldn't put on something just for them if I didn't like it. Depending on how long the drive is, variety would be key.
But then I'm the same with smoking - if you're not a child or asthmatic and you're skanking a ride off of me, I will smoke, whether you like it or not. In their car they can make the rules.
