my issue (which prompted this line of dialog wasn't so much against Valve as a whole but against Steam as a needless requirement)
I don't see how dl'ing games makes them easier unless you mean to get then that depends on the bandwidth of the players (not all players have a broadband connection)
Cheaper means less profit less profit = bad (for companies)
unless all the other installed games aren't in the Steam folder
besides there is a perfectly good steam based thread available if you really want to talk about this
Steam is a needless, you're right. Which means you CHOOSE to involve yourself in it.
Most gamers have broadband. Thats a cheap excuse. EVERY gamer knows to have broadband. Again it's choice, and regardelss of whether or not ppl have broadband doesn't mean it's not easier. Download game > eat sandwich > watch TV > play game is easier than getting dresseed > going to store > waiting in line > driving home > getting undressed > etc.
Cheaper games don't mean less profit. This is 8th grade ecoonimcs. If more ppl buy a game at 50% off than at full price (10 ppl buy a game at $50 and 200 ppl buy it at $25) then it's more profit not to mention the whole point of slaes is to get ppl in the store to buy products that aren't on sale/mega sale......which brings in more profit.
If sales didn't work they would do them....argue that.
Steam has most games so more or less your games will be in one place....lets not split hairs so that you're right.
And for the record you attacked a good service and you have no definate proof of why it's bad, so I made a thread debunking yours. Don't tell me where to put my comments if it's relevant to the thread.
