Saved game while falling to death! How do I get out?!

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:40 am

Not since the '60s . . . the F-bomb was pretty rare in the sub-teen crowd in those days.

Never heard my son (now 27) say anything like the cussing in FO4 until his mid-teens (Who knows what he said on the school playground, though).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not objecting to the language and the mature themes in the game at all. In fact, I rather enjoy it. I'm just A little surprised that a parent of a pre-teen would tolerate it. Times change.

And y'all are right; it's none of my business, and I'm not telling anyone how to raise their children.

Dammit, there's kids on my lawn. I gotta go yell at 'em ...

Bring up the pip boy quickly and consume all Aid eg Food. Or can you go to the map and fast travel? Or equip power armor if you have it?

While none of your business how parents raise their kids, it is a valid concern overall in my opinion. The more rough we make the world, the more accustomed we will get in the end. However, games are games, and I would be more concerned how we advlts treat each other ;)

Hi all. Not that I have to explain myself, but I do get some of y'alls concerns about my almost 12yr old. He's very mature for his age. I, too, had some concerns and almost didn't get it, however, I also have a an almost 21 year old in the house (going to college, working, good kid) and I went through similar things with him and he's turned out just fine. We are a military family and have varied experiences and are very open with our kids. I think kids "on the playground" can be a lot more harsh than some think (as I'm in the schools a lot) so I appreciate the concern, but we are really ok. I watch it with him and honestly, was a bit bummed myself when it happened! Lol.

He simply didn't think about going back to his last save and neither did I at the time. That's what worked. I appreciate all y'alls help and I won't take up anymore people's time on here. ???

First rule of the Internet: Other peoples opinions on your lifestyle choices do not matter. :)

Like another poster above me, I have also met "kids" that were more mature than a fair few advlts...... I actually work with a 15 year old, that has a better work ethic than most of the 30 year olds I have worked with..... :D

As someone said before it worked in new vegas I think it works with 4.. If I remember I had the option to save while falling to my death but didn't choose to do it at the time.

Saving your game as you fall closer to the surface is probably your only real hope.

But, if you're feeling creative in the face of death, you could take some psychojet; in theory slowing down time so you could drop big items like armors and mini guns, potentially breaking your fall (presuming you land on them).

I had this happen to me on ps4, i fell of the highway and it auto saved as i was falling. It looped about 3 times then on the 4th time the game put me on the bridge about 40 meters back. This wasnt a save, it was like the game knew i was stuck in a death loop.

Why did you free fall and save??? LOL

I used to save in the middle of a fight and soon afterwards, a Fat Man was being shot at me.

Just imagine how many auto reloads before for some reason the CPU missed the shot and allowed me to run.

My suggestion would be to save game everytime you made progress, such as:

- Cleared a mission

- Tinkering with settlement

- Modding guns and armors

- Finding a Legendary Gun/Armor

Oh please take up our time. That is why we are here. We are a great bunch most times. :P

I am so glad it worked for your son. A good option is to go to SETTINGS and I think it's at the bottom, go down till you see AUTO SAVES. I set mine for every 5 minutes. I keep dying a lot and the game does glitch/crash/freeze sometimes so it's good to have. Also another thing is have about five saves. Please let your son know this if he doesn't know it already.

Remember number One Rule in Bethesda games is save, save and save. :)

Also please come back we love new members.
