Please, please tell me you have other saves. Even an older autosave will be good enough.

Failing that, if you're on PC hit "tgm" in the console before you land. Toggles god mode, you'll be invincible until you toggle it off again.

If your on PC open the console (~ key) type tcl and then move some place safe then open the console type tcl again and you should be good. If your not on PC I don't know what to tell you.

This.

Either use a previous save or if on PC use a console command or start the game over. That is about all you can do. It's important when you play any Bethesda game that you save often and save saves.

If any of the suggestions above is not possible. Enter pip boy right away when game loads. Pop Med-X, Psycho, chems / food that increases your total HP pool, then eat a Yao Gui steak (at least you will die on full stomach if anything else) to reduce incoming damage. Possible that it won't work out, depending on the height you are falling from.

Best option tho, is load an earlier save.

Edit: Would love to see a possibility for freefall para or gliding in this game with the skyscraqers all over downtown :P

Someone is trolling, I think. Playing on Xbox One, the game reminds me I can't save while falling. Dunno about PC/PS4.

Played Oblivion and Fallout 3 on Xbox 360 and would get same message. I call you out Troll! :D

You are fine just keep saving the closer you get to the ground then load it and you will land like a soft feather

Was thinking that too. How do you save by accident anyways? its quite a process, atleast on the PS4.

That's a really good point.

But if he not trolling the answer is load a previous save. If he doesn't have one( and not on PC) all he can do is start over.

Gee, I like this idea. I don't need it, but it's very clever.

Hi all! I'm not trolling. I'm the mom of an 11yr old that did this in his game. I appreciate everybody's suggestions. We will try some and hopefully he can get out if this without losing everything he's done. He plays on an XboxOne btw. So, I didn't even know how to go about asking this question. Lol. Thanks!??????

Just in case you don't know, before clicking on "continue" before starting a game, go to "load" instead and don't load the top saved game, load the one underneath that one. Hopefully this will help you since you should have 2 or more auto saved games.

There is the Acrobat's legendary armor that reduce falling damage by 50% and a rare armor that is found in a specific location that prevents falling damage.

Spoiler
Just look for Freefall Armor on youtube.

The power armor does too.I jumped off a high rise in the downtown area with power armor, no damage.

I did something similar not too long ago, but I'm on PC. In my case, I was trying to use a hotkey to get a stimpak, and hit F5 instead. two second safter the save, I was hit by whatever weird red weapon it is the asaulttron uses that lights up the whole neighborhood. Fortunately, I had saved only a few minutes earlier...

But not everyone wants to wear Power Armor and the armor that I mentioned give an alternative.

No comments about the fact that the OP is the mother of an 11 year-old who is actually playing the game?

He'll sure have some interesting conversation enhancers to share at the playground :D

Don't see a problem with that. I've met 11 year olds more grounded and level headed than some advlts, and children today are more grownup for their age, overall imo. And altho the game is rated M, you can buy and play the game with parent consent. I'm sure, the parents (hopefully) knows what is best for their child(ren) and thus shouldn't be concerned what others think about it :) But yeah, some of his friends might be a bit jealous on the playground, hehe :D

It worked in New Vegas.

I always used it to get down from the solar plant dish thing, I forget the name. I never felt like backtracking through the dungeon to get down.

Meh, my son played Fallout 3 when he was 8 or younger and then New Vegas when it came out. We had a rule, you here the F word, we don't say repeat it. He was good with it.

Have you ever herd what kids say on the school ground? Fallout 3/New Vegas was tame compared to what they say. :P

I hope it works out,

best to look in the 'load' list to see if there is something...

but if he does lose everything that will itself be a valuable life lesson about saving games...

(one regularly not learned by gamers on this forum considerably older than 11...)

And it's an enjoyable game so a restart would not be an awful outcome.

[And on the age thing, parental freedom of choice applies - all of my daughters played games 'technically' under age, when appropriate to them]
