Also, by most people are you referring to the like 4 people that replied about it saying it worked? I'd hardly call that most people.

It still says "Serial Code not found: modify" or whatever under my login details if I logout and go to login again. It's like it's not remembering my code, but when I do enter it manually it tells me it's in use. If they don't fix this I'm entitled to my $60 for false advertisemant.

Try this. Enter your key. Retype your user credentials. Intentionally enter your password wrong. Enter. It'll give you a warning. Retype your password. Then uncheck "remember", recheck "remember" and log in. See if this does anything. Keep messing around in the log in screen. It will work eventually.

If this fails -- intentionally enter your serial code wrong by one letter or number. Attempt to enter. Change it back to the correct and try again. Eventually it should remember your key, as it did mine.

Ok I will try all of these helpful tips out in a sec, doing some school work atm as I can't play Crysis 2 until a couple hours from now anyways from these papers and what-not I have to do. I'll let you know if anything works when I get to it, thanks again.

Sure. I know it's fixable because I had the exact same problem. After screwing around in the log in screen i was able to perm. fix it. Let me know the results whenever you test again.

Had same issue, on Win 7 using Steam.

Permissions issue with the game locally, run the game as administrator.

Re-enter all information at login screen, check and uncheck remember .. poof!

Same here, also to the guy that posted the tips I did get to trying them out but am here to report that nothing worked, I spent a good 20 minutes experimenting and even running the program in windows mode while doing it all, and all sorts of stuff. Nothing.

Damn it , cant play online because cd-key already in use .... ****... been waiting for month and cant play that frack ... And even worse , wen im able to play online my friend cant ! so i guess i will have to find myself a way to frack up the router so that dosnt happen ... WAY TO GO Crysis.

Hey guys, just give it some time, it eventually worked for me. I think they're just getting bogged down by too many people trying to access the servers at the same time.

It appears that I've found the fix.
Follow these steps:
1. Enter the game
2. At the log in screen, click "modify" under the serial key entry.
3. Type in your serial with dashes, ALL LOWERCASE
4. THEN retype all user credentials (username and password)
5. Untick the check box next to password, labeled "remember details".
6. THEN re-check the box.
7. Log in.
*Note: If it tells you that your credentials are not correct, re-enter your password.

Let me know if this works. If not, I have a few more solutions. It's possible to get past this error with a little patience. It all has to do with the login screen. Your game isn't broken.

I can't even download the game using te EA Download Manager.Always keeps telling me that the key "is in use". Am I the only one with this problem??

im having the same problem as everyone else here i just wanna play the game i spent 60 dollars on game is installed i can play singleplayer but i really just wanted to play multiplayer why are you making urself not look like the big dogs on campus anymore crytek.
guess now from all the disappointment. we wait even tho we paid for the le edition to get bonus content but doesnt really matter cuz we could have earned it anyways in the time we can play

So I finally got this working, I followed the steps on the front there then I went into my steam folder and deleted the multiplayer demo folder for crysis 2. (I had already deleted local content but I didnt delete that folder apparently)

But I found out yet another epic fail. If you disconnect, it rolls you back to the level you were when you logged on. Doesn't even save imbetween maps.

It appears that I've found the fix.

Not for everyone it doesn't I did it 10x and it didnt work until I deleted my demo folder. annoys me when people say that works when that doesn't solve the problem for most people.

My buddy and I were having the same issue and this fix both worked for us. Before you log in click the modify cd key button and enter your cd key in all lower case with no dashes. After that connect to a NON official crytek server (usually the USplay ones) once you connect in the lobby exit your game back to desktop. Re launch crysis 2 click the modify button before log in re-enter cd key lower case with no dashes launch multi and attempt to connect to official servers. May not work for all but this worked for my buddy and I soooo best of luck

Almost 13,000 of those support tickets are the same issue- this issue. This should be priority #1- and an excuse to fire all of the interns.

People who bought the Limited Edition cant play because the extra content they got with game but dont worry there going fix it, its because there is two differant codes and there messing with one another.

i just bought the retail version of crysis 2 installed it entered my serial made a my crysis account. i go on to play multi player and every time i try to join a room it says my serial code is in use. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON. nothing like paying over 60 dollars for a new game and i cant even play online.

and another issue: I have to retype my serial every time i'm joining multiplayer... that succs. any Ideas?
