Should I buy SW:ToR ?

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

Addendum: save your money for GW2. Those who've played it say it's less grindy, more cooperative, and has more story elements than SWTOR or WOW. It's also f2p. All you do is pay for the code.

Also, no EA!

... What ?

We are talking about Massive, multiplayer, online games right ?
It plays like a single player game. But it's an MMO. Hence my statement.

I am sure the PvP/Raiding is different, but I usually do PvE and honestly, if I wasn't in Mumble with guildmates and stuff, I could be rolling through a regular single player game much of the time.

Apologies, I was unaware that 48 point was off limits.

I've had Steam for years, and no, it doesn't. I've never had it ask me anything of the sort.
I've had Steam since 2004 and I know it asks me when it wants to inspect my computer....whether it does it any other time I don't know, but it does ask sometimes at least.

I expected you both to say that, and I can assure you, it's most certainly not. I've had my eye on it for quite some time, and it doesn't snoop around your computer. And as well, as I've said NUMEROUS times before...

STEAM DOES THE EXACT SAME THING.

Which is to say that it scans your hardware and watches for any exceptions to report client issues. It ISN'T watching your web activity, nor is it recording your credit card information other than what you give it for game purchases. Oh, and EA is greedy because they want to make their own digital distribution system to rival Steam? Which, by the way, Steam is a juggernaut which NEEDS competition? They're also clearly evil for trying to make money too, never mind they're a company.

Stop [censored]ing about EA, please. It's a dead horse, all of it. Every. Single. Point. Against. EA. All of them. They've all been done, they've been said SO many times, and frankly, I'm sick of seeing mindless hate for a company that doesn't deserve it. Other companies do the EXACT same thing, but do they get hate? Usually not, usually it all goes to EA.

I'm done with you people.

I've had Steam since it came out and I've never noticed it scanning my system ever. I has also had Origin since it came out in 2004/5 and it was called EA Download Manager and it was just as crumby back then as it is now.

I guess we can both agree to disagree. You think EA and Origin are the greatest thing since sliced bread and I KNOW they are the worst.

This.
Every. Single. Point. Against. EA. All of them. They've all been done, they've been said SO many times.
That is a poor argument. That fact the people still complain about EA shows that nothing has changed.

And it's not EA specifically, it's publishers in general.
In the world of digital distribution, we don't need them any more.

And on the subject of The Old Republic, no one has given me a good reason to get the game.
So I think I'll wait for Guild Wars 2 or something.
