Should players be allowed to respec?

Post » Wed Dec 04, 2013 12:15 pm

I say no.

There will be more than enough skill points available in the game to master any skill line you want just takes time.

And if you decide you want to play a different class you simply make a new character of that class.

A respec option would just be dumbing the game down and needless. The only real reason I can see ESO adding it in as a way to make more money by charging players real money for any respeccing. In which case, my suggestion will be likely be ignored.

As Lep said in the other thread though, no-one's talking about changes to classes or skills. Just morphs and attributes.

I say yes, because there is a huge chance they're going to add it in anyways, and I'd like to avoid being in the game when they do.

You can only respec attribute points and morphs, so this thread is irrelevant.

Allowing players more options and versatility without forcing them into tedious grinding isn't "dumbing" anything down, it's making the game more enjoyable and accessible to those who aren't borderline masochists.

Respeccing should exist and it should only be available through in-game currency.

Neg. Respeccing is almost pointless with their skill system. If players want to repsec so badly, they should pay for it with real money. If it is to be with in game money the prices should be astronimical. Perhaps free once, but thats it. The whole idea of rescpeccing is unrealistic in the ESO world and breaks the immersion.

Why do so many people want to svck the immersion out of a game just because they are lazy?

The one this thread came from? But either way. The concerns you posted are, I think, not an issue. No-one's gonna need to respec skills, there are enough skyshards and stuff for all of them. It'll only be needed, as has been said, for attribute allocations and morphs. Do you have an issue with those being respecced?

Hmm. No.

The whole point of paying $15 a month is to not buy crap like that.

You could start a holy war in the name of "immersion." Everyone goes off and does things for their version of "immersion."

That topic isnt about respeccing. If respeccing is going to have such a small effect then why have it at all? It is a feature that goes against suspension of disbelief and immersion. 2 things which are vital to any games success.

Yes, but only at 1 fixed Point for each faction, no respec during gameplay, when the fight has started.

Define immersion - for you. If you can. Dont google it, just answer it in your own words.

Don't argue over immersion that is just stupid. Everyone's version of immersion is different than others. Are you going to tell her that her immersion is wrong and only yours is the right one?

If something as simple as a videogame mechanic in a videogame breaks your fragile immersion, then good luck when XxMOLAGBALYOLOSWAGxX the naked dark elf comes up to you and yells in all caps about turning 360 degrees and walking away.

Okay, so you do have a problem with *any* respeccing. I'm afraid that, as I've already said twice today, when the majority of players want a feature, and a small group demand something contrary to that, you're not gonna win.

Please, enough of this. We've all had enough drama for one day.

Okay, begging now. Ro's on his last nerve right now, you are gonna get yourself a ban if you don't quit with the personal attacks and flamebaiting.

Who the [censored] cares what my definition of immersion is. You aren't going to like my answer anyways and you'll just scoff it off and say I'm dumb and don't understand what the word means. It has a different meaning to different people so stop asking people to give you a damn explanation for it.
