Same deal after the Rockets. It happened yesterday so I quit and figured something corrupted my save randomly. I had some time today and reloaded my only save that worked (mid-Rocket quest) and as soon as I got to Boulder City Ruins my game crashed and none of my new post-rocket saves work again (manual, auto or quick).

Yes, just completed the quest line, sent them little nasties into space and everyone of my saved game files after finishing this chain line is crashing to the desktop.... Bethesda FIX THIS PROBLEM! I dont wanna start over .. from nothing!

I did not have a problem at the mission to send the Ghouls to space. For me it happened in vault 34. I was just exploring and cleared out vault 34, then i unlocked a door to the armory that was PACKED with guns and ammo. So much that i had to pack it all up on my two companions to get it with me. Then i fast traveled to Freeside and sold everything. About 30 mins after that i got a crash and my quick save and about 3-4 resent save files did not work. So i reloaded a save before that and did all of the above again. Same thing happened, crashed when i tried to load. So THIS time i just took an armor and gun from the armory and now it has worked fine. I dont know if it had something to do with packing my companions full of stuff or selling all that, but something caused those save corruptions because now when i did not do that it has worked (so far i must say..).. I also play without autosave just in case that [censored]s something up also.

i have the same problem. saved the ghouls made it back to the guy turned in the quest and went to boulder city figured was a good time to save and call it a night got back on and all my games were corrupt but then one before i helped the ghouls...

For me, it happened during Vault 34. After fighting my way through hoards of ghouls and glowing ones, imagine how it is to find out that the only working savegames are the ones up to the armory!

All savegames after this let the game crash. So I'm basically stuck at this point, since I'm sure as hell not starting a new game.

The patch released the 21 October should have apparently fixed the problem, but I think it may have made things worse, since savegames worked before the patch.

Bethseda, work faster on a fix!

Edit: Milafly, just saw you had it after Vault 34 as well. (You sold ALL weapons? I'd at least kept the rocket launcher, or one of the assault rifles Sure they're in pretty bad condition, but once repaired, they pack some serious punch)

Me too. Same quest area. None of my saves work after launching the rockets. The only save I have is mid-quest too. This is [censored]. I really have no patience for this crap anymore.

Yes, there was a time when you could buy a game and expect it to work out of the box. Those were the days.

Same thing is happening to me. Finished the rocket quest, played for about 45 minutes more, just using quick saves and then it crashed to desktop and now none of my saves post rocket quest will load......would love a quick fix so I do not have to replay it all over again.

All my saves work on the earlier patch + hotfix, but none of my saves work on the latest patch.

Other posts are suggesting just skipping the quest altogether. It is not needed to continue with the main quest. The saves corrupt after you return the stuff to the dude to start the launch. Don't do it and you should be able to continue saving with no problems.

Yeah, that would be going back 50+ hours in gameplay time. No thanks. :cryvaultboy:

This is hella annoying. I was playing last night and now whenever I load a savegame I ctd. I've also put like 50+ hours since saving those damn rocket ghouls. I was just about to beat the game. This is the 2nd time i've been screwed out of my savegame data due to bugs. WTF is wrong with these developers?

Edit: IT is the damn rocket that is the problem. I load up my save before that point at 6hrs and it loads fine. I try to load my current save at 72hrs, and crashola. WTF?

Call up support and say you did not agree with the EULA, which IIRC states you can return the game for a full refund. Which in steam terms should be removing it from your games list and a credit back to you via however you payed.

Well, I had the same problems loading saved games after this quest line and thought it was the quest causing this too. But I loaded up an old saved game (before the ghoul rocket launch quest) and just took my guy and walked North up the map, saving the game in random spots. I didn't do any quests and made my up to Boulder. Did my last save there and then tried to load up the saved games in between Boulder and rocket launch site. Every saved game crashed. These were all manual saves. So, I wanna say that it has to do with where you are physically on the map....but I dunno.

Yeah, I started experiencing this problem tonight. I woke up this morning and played for a couple of hours and all my saves were working perfectly fine. Tonight I come home to relax and play some New Vegas and what do you know? None of my saves will load. Whenever I try to load one up it just CTD. I have been past the rocket quest for a long time now. I'm at about level 21 and have just been exploring the wasteland. The most recent thing I did was clear out Vault 3 of all the fiends. I try to load up my manual saves (which are in Novac because I use that hotel room as storage) and they just crash. I'm highly disappointed in how many bugs there are in this game. :/

Just a note: When you do the quest in the reactor room of vault34, the saves behave normally again (for me at least)

Just a headsup.. i finished the "Come Fly With Me" quets line, finished it this very morning, went back to the hotel, saved... went off to go do some stuff in real life, got back, and now my saves that were all made after finishing the "come fly with me" quest line crash the game.
Is this related to this quets line?

With the rocket mission and during Vault 34 and i have see the same issue than lot of people

Same issue in 2 differents computer and OS ( 7 and XP) for my part

I hope a true an real good patch because pay 60usd for a beta game is "afraid"

im on win 7 64 and steam did update but i am not seeing this problem. After reading this post i ran to check to see if my save from last night would load up and IT DID (auto and quick saves work also) . Im at level 28 and near the end of the game. But at the begining i did that fix where i deny write permission to the one steam folder and never had a problem with my saves since, and i did this fix back on 10/22/2010
