Even though I own an Xbox, I think this is really not fair. Consumers shouldn't be punished for their choice Of console, and all these back handed exclusivity deals need to stop.

"And we’re still not done – we look forward to sharing more Skyrim news next year!" - this news however makes me happy. Glad to see them actually supporting their game with more dlc.

Apparently not releasing at the same time automatically makes it a timed exclusive despite it never being called that. Ah, the internet.

Good news for PS3 users, though.

I hate their wording, too.
Happy to announce? Seriously? Like there are actually problems with the PC version!
They can be happy to announce stuff on the PS3, but surely not on the PC if it's not exactly the same day as the Xbox.

Argh...

They should be sorry we have to wait.

Bugthesda does it again to the PC community. I guess I will wait for a Steam sale on this one and all future DLC's if they keep this up. I don't want them to end up on my s**t list along with the vast majority of PC companies out there. They are really starting to head that way, though. It also looks like my gaming money this quarter will go to Ubisoft and Far Cry 3. Come to think of it Far Cry 3 will be the first game I have purchased from Ubisoft since they started using that always on DRM.

This is one of the reasons why piracy still thrives. Even the most valiant and staunch beth supporter will now be tempted to pirate this dlc just out of spite.. completely unneded and cynical move.. it's one thing to f**k us over for the rather disappointing dawnguard and the laughably unnecessary hearthfire but to ruin xmas for a lot of people with lack of what's surely the definitive skyrim dlc is just not cool at all.

You know what a timed exclusive is right?

Odds are Dragonborn is going to come out on PC (maybe PS3) about thirty days or more after it's been released for the 360.

For the people who have failed to realize Dragonborn is the 2nd main DLC and thus the last DLC with xbox 360 exclusivity for 30 days. Hearthfire was in between the two and was not a full on expansion dlc and thus did not count as one of the 360 exclusive deals. I say it is highly likely that PC and PS3 users will get this newest dlc in the very near future. Early 2013 generally means first quarter so I expect it to release between january and april. Hell I expect it to release before rather than later.

Also has anyone else who is buying the dlc yet realized that we might actually pay more for the DLC than the actual game...lol

My winter exams are saved, so good news for me.

Also, Id rather happily wait another 3 months aslong as I can play it on the PC instead of a crappy console.

Well aware. Morrowind wasn't a PC exclusive because the console version was released 6 months after it. :eyeroll:

I think I'll just leave it at that, I'd rather not get caught up in the swell of rage and entitlement.

Sometimes I think Pete is out of touch with the fanbase. That seriously wasn't good wording.

Pretty much why would you reward them for treating you like [censored] when there's the option to get it for free.

I don't see why people are upset about this unless they own a PS3 copy of the game. The XBOX and PS3 verions are hardly worth playing in their crude unmodded state. I'd rather sit here listening to people complain than play it on those consoles. I think it's fair the XBOX and PS3 players should get their copies first so they at least have a reason to buy the console version at all.

And if you don't have anything to do until Dragonborn is released, I would suggest downloading the many professional level mods than are appearing every day. A few of them are even quests with multiple hours of gameplay.

So wipe off your tears with your texture pack combinder, unofficial patches and awesome armors and weapons, quests, nudity, beauty and bugfixes that the poor XBOX users will never see the face of. I for one think they deserve to get it long before us.

As for you PS3 users... Poor souls..

Rage and entitlement are two of the biggest things with gamers right now.

I think the exclusivity deals are rubbish, and they need to stop. Absolutely.

However, it's happened. There's nothing we can do about it. Acting like a spoiled, entitled brat won't change what has happened. Yes, Bethedsa have probably shot themselves in the foot rather a lot by doing this, but again - nothing that can be done.

Exactly.
I mean, okay, the PS3 got some serious problems, so it's cool they made it finally work.
But there are no problems we know about on the PC. If there are any, they should tell us (not that I would believe them after the stuff they are pulling right now with MS, but okay...).
Now they are playing like it's the natural right of the Xbox to get DLC first and we can be all happy that we only have to wait until early 2013.

Thank you, Beth. Thank you very much. Lucky bastards we are, aren't we?

Just because the console versions don't have mods that's no reason to punish PC users who have supported this series since Arena. Mods don't come anywhere near official DLC, I hardly use any mods for my game, only the few tweaks here and there, quest mods don't appeal to me whatsoever.
