Is skyrim getting boring?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 5:22 pm

Sort of off-topic, but...

Have you seen Josh Sawyer's formspring about how he regrets putting in that crier kid for Mick 'n Ralph's in New Vegas, because his goal was to make children as inoffensive and unprovoking as possible, but that kid is seen frequently and his dialog becomes repetitive?
Is it just me, or is Skyrim the complete opposite? Practically every child in this game talks mad [censored] to you, as if they know they're invincible.

This is one design decision where I CANNOT for the life of me figure out why anyone would disagree with Josh Sawyer's method, unless if Bethesda is filled with trolls.

Back on topic, nice mods, I'll have to check them out. Was looking for some balance mods myself, but couldn't find any.

Hmmmm...or maybe Bethesda are cleverer - or sicker - than you think. It's almost like Bethesda designed most of them to be so incredibly annoying a whole new area of gameplay would open up once those of us on PC got to remove their essential status.

It was the first game I picked up after ME3. I took a brief break just to finish that trilogy, felt burned, got depressed. Decided to kill dragons with that kid from DA:O's human noble origin muttering about 'will there be dragons?". Lather, rinse, repeat since March. Started to play Oblivion again and now I'm going back and forth between the two.

I haven't touched the game in a month and a half and will not until dawnguard comes out. I burned out on the game a lot quicker than oblivion. Might go back and play oblivion again

Nope. I've got a little over 300 hours in Skyrim now, and I can still pick it up and have fun at any time.

...unless if Bethesda is filled with trolls.

Oh, they are

"What brings you to Balimund today? Purchase? Repair?"

"And yet none of us can pick a damned lock"

"M'aiq is very practical, he has no need for Mysticism"

And there were more, but i've forgotten them.

I was bored of Skyrim for a while, but then I tried to go waaay more in depth with the whole RP aspect of the game and now its fun.

Yes the game does get repetetive but so does every game even FO3 and FO:NV (Never played Oblivion so I cant speculate)

Im at 935 hours logged on steam, i'm starting to feel quite bored, feels like i've done every playstyle to death and can't figure what i would do next. It's just not exciting knowing where everything is and how to do every quest :/

Well, Skyrim is repetitive.
The quests are repetitive.
The character personalities are repetitive.
The generic quests are repetitive.
The dungeons are repetitive.
The combat is repetitive.
The loot is repetitive.
The enemy types are repetitive.

Skyrim is repetitive.

You can always do what I did:
1. Throw a fit.
2. Curse Skyrim and rant on how awful it is.
3. Cool down for a month or two.
4. Come back when there are new mods to try out that makes it less repetitive.

haha this is so true. I get bored all the time, but I also play the game all the time, so I guess its my fault. I just try and do new things. I am thinking about lowering the difficulty and using some of the basic spells that are pretty useless otherwise. like flames and frost. the great thing about skyrim is that there is like 100 ways to play the game, so give it a try. One character who attacks the same way can get very very boring. try a two hander build with heavy armor and only put upgrade health and just run through swinging at everything no blocking lol. idk. good luck!
edit: I NEED A GAMING COMPUTER.

skyrim is the type of game that gets boring if you let it
fact is there is a wealth of content and numerous ways to approach everything in game, numerous playstyles, and out of game things like self gimping,DID playstyle etc

best game iv played in years

Every game gets boring due to burn out. Play a different game for a while.

Yeah sometimes I feel the same, making new characters and feeling like I'm walking around in circles to say. But I usually just take as long a break I need to get back into it.

It's getting a little bit boring for me because i haven't completed every thing yet but as soon as i do it will get boring. When Dawngaurd is released i think skyrim will become al ot of fun again because there should be a lot more things to do :)

Being a total nerd and RPing helps me out.

And I'm sure this has already been said, but setting limitations on yourself (for those who don't have a PC) or using mods alleviates the boring repetitiveness that is bound to happen.

You're probably just burned out, it happens. Take a break for a while and you will probably want to play again.

It is for me, but that's because I don't have much to do. That's why I'm so excited for Dawnguard.
