Thanks you.

Is that like how bubbled out everything is?

Edit: Like how zoomed in your vision is?

It is exactly that, for instance fov 85 is quite further zoomed out compared to 70.

And thanks for the guy who suggested this, it helped me quite a lot too. I was wondering what made me feel lightheaded while playing.

When are devs gonna learn to make headbob optional? Evil dastards just love making us turn green...
Yes... I'm not sure when the headbob option was disabled. Perfect Dark had the option!

I hope you can change it on the consoles.

I'm a bit sensitive to intense visual stimulation.

Best anology I can think of would be a slice of pie, a FOV viewing angle of 90 would be a quarter of the pie with the charter at the point looking towards the crust. The space you can see would be everything inside the slice. The FOV number would essentially be changing the angle on the point.

I don't know much about FOV, the only thing I know is that the lkower the FOV, the less you can see of weapons. I can barely see my dagger at all :(

Ugh. I wish there was a way to change the FOV on the 360 version. I never felt ill after Oblivion or Morrowind, but a few hours of Skyrim has me nauseous and with a headache. SIgh.

Changing any options in the console(actually it's being reported the same for the .ini files) will disable achievements...

Another slap in the face from Bethesda to the PC gaming crowd...

And I agree I get severe motion sickness from these "console ports" default FoV...

Achievements are for 12-year-olds.

press ~ to open the console, type fov 85, for example where 85 is the FOV angle you want to use

Everytime I restart this setting is lost. How do I make it stick?

Make your console changes, save, exit the game entirely and restart, you can get achievments again.

uh? What? If I change something in the ini or console I lose the so call achievements? Anyways, I'm AMAZE how much of a difference the FOV makes. Even though I never got a headache while playing my eyes were getting tired a bit and I though it was me. I changed it to FOV 90. Looks not only better but the screen moves smoother when you run. Jeez, now I know that Skyrim is really a console port. The default FOV (70) is suited for people who are looking at their TV from far away. No wonder the UI have big ass fonts too.

Got to the console and type "save ini" - without quotes? That might work.

Damn right they should disable achievements. the developers made the game that way for a reason so they'd like you to you know, play the game the way it was intended? Low FOV makes things more claustrophobic and increases tension eg. Bioshock. If you can see 360 degrees in all directions there wouldn't be much suspense would there?

The game is basically a port with flaws that reek of consoles. Changing the fov for pc is VERY helpful.

My Documents -> My Games -> Skyrim -> Skyrim.ini
Under [General] add: fdefaultfov=xx where xx = whatever number you want.

I did this on day one(set mine to 90) and I've gotten buckets of achievements since.

A lot of games give me headaches / make me feel a bit sick. I've been gaming since I was 4 years old (one of my earliest memories is being sat on my dad's knee playing Doom on a 386) I now use some glasses I got from http://www.gunnars.com/ - These work a treat, no headaches, no feeling sick etc. Takes a little time to get used to them, but I can't game or work without them now, especially looking a a screen.
