Skyrim Hair should be more realistic

I don't have a problem with the hair in the game.

It amazes me how many people are convinced it must be something completely different because they changed it's name.
It amazes me as well. It's just a slightly updated version.

But with the whole hair thing its just fluff graphical fluff and I dayn live without it but it would be a nice touch.

What are you talking about? It is realistic. I doubt very much that anyone in Skyrim bathes so their hair is so greasy it is stiff.

Attribute and longer main quest and faction quest and actual interesting quest within the game would be a plus.

My guy has a shaved head and i dont care that his bushy beard doesnt blow in the breeze...

theres so many more things that need to be addressed, hair blowing in the breeze isn't even on the priority list

Do you know how much processing/graphics power it would take to render the physics for hair like that? I don't even think that the next generation of consoles will be able to handle it, and not most computers for a good long while.

Very little? Plenty of games have hair physics. Take a look at Alice: Madness Returns for a more recent example.

Hello Bonehedge!

Very little? Plenty of games have hair physics. Take a look at Alice: Madness Returns for a more recent example.

Keep in mind that even though the extra processing power might be small - Is it? - it's on top of everything else the console has to process. We didn't get proppr rain because neither Xbox nor PS3 cold be programmed to handle them and now we are to believe cloth and hair physics will be possible? I have my doubts, even though verlet surfaces were indeed featured in the gamejam video. Anyways, I'm all for it, should it be possible.

Hi theer mrtrollski6969. What gives?

Do Beth some justice. Characters have come a long way since Oblivion, when they were atrocious. Skyrim's are quite nice.

Well one of the few mods I've added (about 4) is one that smooths out the existing hair. In vanilla it does look pretty bad. Another mod I added as one to make real red hair. I can't believe that none of the vanilla hairs were red as TES games have always had red hair before. One of the other mods I have is to make the eyebrows match the hair.

So, of the four mods I use, three are hair related. The fourth gets rid of the bumpy nose (note I'd use the HD DLC to do this, but my PC can't handle it).

Now as far as hair waving and all that, well, ... no. I generally play in first person anyway and/or wear a helmet. I guess it may be interesting to see NPC's hair blow in the wind but not a priority. What gets me that was added is the trees swaying and branches moving in the wind. That is incredible looking and makes the world so much more alive.

If you make it wave too much, it just looks silly. I mean, yeah, the hair looks ugly, but you usually get a helmet that covers it up the first 3 hours of gameplay

The hair is bad. It looks very plasticky sometimes. Could'nt be that hard to make hair that looks like hair. At least seperate from the head.

Not like games from now don't do it. Games from earlier do it.
Soul Calibur IV, it moves and looks realistic. And that's a fighting game.
Lots of games have moving, realistic, hair. It's nothing new.

Dragons Dogma has good hair. It's all diferent, goes down their backs all the way down. It might even move.

The hair in the more stylised Kingdoms Of Amalur:Reckoning looks good. It's thick, stands away from the head and has texture.
It's convincing. You can see were they dressed it, were it goes into the buns and ponytails and braids.

Skyirm, you look at dressed hair, it does'nt quite convince sometimes. It looks like buns with no though to what part of the hair went into them or were it ends.

I would love to see more realistic hair in Skyrim, moving while walking/runing and affected by the wind.In many games the hair look odd or bad and not very realistic.I have no idea whats so difficult about making some good looking hair.I also think they should add more hairstyles.Anyone?

Have you ever tried to create Hair through programming?

Fighting games don't have open worlds and dynamic programming. Much easier to develop. That's why there has been a trizzilion Street Fighters and only a handful of TES games.

I have still yet to see any information for this, even this whole cloak thing, everyone thought we were getting cloaks in vanilla but it just turned out to be a part of an armor set... Is there any factual information regarding this? Or just rumors again :( I don't want to get my hopes up once more...

Tons of games already have hair physics, even going back to last gen games. So it's strange that Skyrim doesn't.

Two Worlds 2 & Dragons Dogma are both open world games and both have hair physics. So its not as difficult as you say.
