Continue-ing the chain

do you think if the future they will take into account you want to shout at your television?!

Edit: Also, would anyone be opposed to when you actually say the shout, your character actually not repeat the words? the shout just happens? for immersion sakes

What do you mean? Is it having a hard time picking it up when you shout the words instead of saying them more normally?

I have moved my Kinect to like two feet in front of me. I never even use motion control so I just want to be able to softly say words and it pick up. And it has.. it has been mostly sensitive to my voice like when I was visiting with someone in the room, explaining how I am having to whirlwind sprint everywhere at the moment, it whirlwind sprinted me nearly off the cliff.

Sometimes it's not perfect and it will say Try again? but I think sometimes I don't enunciate clear enough or something. It will take some getting used to but so far I am completely satisfied.

In the past 4 and a half hours I've been awake, I have been using the Kinect features nonstop! I am literally using them every 20-30 seconds! So it makes a dramatic difference in gameplay indeed! A much more immersive, interactive, interesting and exciting gaming experience.

Ive wanted kinect shouts since the beginning. I imagine they will make the reconition better over time, plus the possibility of kinect 2 coming, we will see

I typically just use the English word for the shout because it doesn't require a button press and seems to recognize better than when I try to say the actual game words for the shout. It's also easier for me to remember. You do have to pronounce them like the character does or it won't recognize them very well. Everything else is working pretty much flawlessly. Like Groupofone I've been using this for a few hours now and it really does change the feel of the game. Switching spells is very smooth now and keeps the flow of the game going so much better than before. I'm so glad we had a Kinect already.

Sorry if this has already been asked. Since the update I cant use Night Eye, am I missing what voice command to use? I try to use RB to manually use it but it switches in the top right to a Dragon Shout symbol, expecting me to voice a shout. It is a new character I made today and im in Helgen Keep so I dont have any shouts anyway.

If you have Use Kinect turned on, then your Right Bumper now maps to "Dragon Language mode", which is that dragon head that you're seeing. To use shouts and powers (like Night Eye) normally, press LB and RB simultaneously. Also, you can turn off the Kinect functionality at any time and RB will act normally.

It's good! :D

My only wish is that instead of addressing followers with the rather dry word "Ally" you could address them by name, like in ME3.
"Lydia... Follow me".

But I guess there's a LOT more followers in Skyrim than party members in ME3 so it would be a pain to do that.

But that (minor, minor) note aside, this is freaking awesome.

My favourite commands are the hotkey assigns, "Bow!" pew pew pew "Sword!" slash!

Well done Bethesda, it works like a dream.

So, the BethBlog said that this is a Title Update (TU) with the Kinect support download (from Xbox LIVE).

Aside from the Kinect integration, are there any other updates/upgrades in this TU?

I ask because the Kinect system itself really doesn't appeal to me, but if there's an update to the game, I want to get it. But I don't want to download the TU if I'm going to have to use the Kinect.

I understand that I will most likely (99% chance) be able to play the game as I always have even if I download the TU without owning a Kinect peripheral, but if there are some good changes aside from Kinect in this TU, then I'd really love to know what they are before I download it.

100% chance.

If you have no Kinect unit and Kinect disabled in the game... it won't make any difference to your experience, not even 1%, heh.

That said, yes I'm interested to know what else they snuck in with the TU (because you know they did sneak something else in, spit it out Bethesda!).

*chuckles*

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll feel much better accepting the update when I get home from work now... if the clock will ever move forward! :stare:

And I'm also curious what they ninja'd in as an update. I looked online, and the file size seems a tad too big for just Kinect support... just sayin'.

The "Equip Mace and Shield" commands equips Shield and fist :(
Just sayin'
Apart from that, it's a refreshing change from cycling through the menus looking for a certain shout/spell/item.
People who don't have Kinect shouldn't cry or rage over it, it's an addition that makes life easier, not a whole expansion that makes you buy the Kinect ;)

Groupofone, get yourself a Turtle Beach X41 headset. Trust me, it's the best quality at a decent price.

Do you HAVE to use Ally Follow me? I thought you could just say "follow me" when an ally is journeying with you.

Did you assign the shield and mace you wanted it to use in your favorites list?

I have said this a few times now but an update they snuck in that is not using Kinect is showing you what items you can trade with your ally when they are nearly overencumbered.

So,,, I kill a bear and have been wondering around for a while, so I say "quick save". I look to my right and there are some ruins that look like fun to explore. In the ruins, a Lightning mage (or something like that) is hanging out. He turns out to be a complete badass. As I'm fighting him (equip dual fire spell, equip left ward spell, equip right summon spell...etc) an Ancient Dragon lands behind me. Now I'm dodging in and out of these ruins, J'zargo's going crazy with his shock spells, I'm getting frost breath from one side, lightning from the other. I'm shouting "EQUIP MAGICKA POTION! EQUIP LEFT WARD SPELL!! DRAGON REND!!! For the first time in an Elder Scrolls game I'm using all of my resources and this feels like a real battle. I died badly and I cussed and stamped my feet and such. Then the game reloaded my quick save and I look to my right and there were those ruins... I've fought those two monsters five times now, and I've never had as much fun in Skyrim. This is an amazing feature!!! Thanky kindly Bethesda!!!

Anyone know if you can "unequip" your left hand? e.g want to use one handed weapon to parry but cant get rid of the spell/item in left hand. Can this be done using kinnect if not whu not?

There is no unarmed command on the list so that's why it can't be done using Kinect. It is still an option to open the favorites list or your equipment list and manually unequip an item just like before.

Got to have it equipped, then hit right bumper, then left bumper
