I know but what I was trying to say that there are only human children, besides Redguards.

Whatever you mean to say, I can't figure it out. o_O

Well, given that this is only reported in books - and we know that in-game books can be and sometimes are wrong - they could always say that these were folklore with no basis in reality. Might annoy some people, but it would work.

If they want to stick with those factors, though, the Khajit would be easy enough; just make it so that the next game has planned-out lunar cycles and have the birth affected accordingly. For the Argonians, though, I don't know what they'd do. What do the stories say the effect would be on an Argonian who never had any access to Hist sap?

Leave the pregnancy to the common folk of Skyrim, I'll just adopt their children.

There was a french made modification for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind that went into some detail of adding this feature.
However, like with all features it doesn't just have good outcomes and if I remember correctly, you had certain constraints put on you.
So it'd be expected for this skyrim wife to be pregnant for many in-game months before she pops the old weasel out of the hole.

Then to add to this, you'd have to invest time, effort, as well as good coin into keeping that child well fed, happy and quite secure.
This is why commitment is not all fun and games. When you really start thinking about things like this.. it's more dreadful than it looks.

that might be the reason why there are no undead or children of beast races in the game now...

Oh, sorry. I guess I read that wrong. Anyway, there are actually Redguard children. Adara in Markarth, Braith in Whiterun, and Kayd in Solitude. Their skin does seem paler than the advlts, though.

Technically, Braith is a redguard. Just inexplicably far lighter than either parent.

Exactly but it would be controversy. Like the same six marriage skyrim has.

Well, papa was away from home a lot adventuring (at least until the arrow...never mind) and mama had to keep warm somehow. Skyrim's nights are a little cold... :hubbahubba:

Still, Bethesda could've made them the same skin type as when they're older?

It would be about five hundred times more controversial. I can promise you that will not happen in our lifetimes.

I know it wont but what I am trying to say pregnancy in skyrim would leave to controversy. What if you dont want the child? Would it let you kill/divorce your wife? Pregnancy wont be in any Elder Scrolls game. By that I mean pregnancy caused by the player.

This again. No, it wouldn't be cool. The mechanics would be completely creepy, and some of us play female characters.

Oh. Well, yeah, I agree with you. That's a good point. Given the number of people who have said "I got married but marriage in the game svcks and there's no divorce, so I gave Mjoll (or whoever) a "Consider dat a duhvoahs" divorce in the wilderness, and add in the fact that children are indestructible, I think there would be a lot of people reloading from previous saves. "Damn brats are a pain in the ass. Time to reverse time and reload!"

I see nothing creepy about the mechanics of making kids, myself. Lotsa fun, rather.

I played a female character in Fable 3. Pregnancy didn't seem to slow her down at all. :bunny:

Please don't use Fable as an example of anything that TES should try to emulate.

Now, now, dont be so harsh on fable, it had a FEW redeemable qualities.

In one of the books of Skyrim they say argonians and khajiits can't reproduce with other races other than their own. That's a start
Actually, it's possible that Khajiit and Argonians can. The other races just would rather not find out about those unions. Besides, remember http://www.imperial-library.info/content/real-barenziah All the crazy that Barenziah and that Khajiit had? That was not a Bosmer like Khajiit, either. That was a Cathay-Raght. Those kinds of Khajiit are big guys, very cat-like, and well... Read the uncensored version of their fun.

I take it you were on the side of those mechanics that didn't involve stretch marks, back aches, episiotomy, or lactation.

Regardless, I meant the mechanics of it in a game of course.

lol

Well, no, I don't mind it in that sense. Choices inherently restrict freedom once made; that's the nature of choices having consequences. It's just that there are situations that lend themselves well to games, and situations that don't. Marriage and childbirth just don't seem to work well with an RPG to me. To mean anything they require too much in the way of personal interaction, and that just doesn't work in this sort of game.
That's what i meant. The personal interaction is just not there
