Skyrim...you will never quit.

Post » Tue Sep 25, 2012 11:44 pm

Personally i feel Skyrim is an un-quitable (i'm aware this isn't a word) game. "Why?" you may ask, well ill tell you why i think. Skyrim is an adventure game, you can (within reason) do what you like, if you wanted to get your smithing level up, you can. if you wanted to get your speech level up, guess what, you can!
Skyrim appeals to the mass amount of people and if skyrim isn't the right game for you, you probably would've found out after the first time of playing.
Also due to Skyrims HUGE map and randomly spawning dragons, bandits, wolves etc its an unpredictable game, anything can happen at any time. You can also choose what quest you want to do and when you want to do it.
I think that the game has too much to offer for a person to say "i will never play this again" and i don't mean someone quitting after a week of playing, i suppose that is normal if Skyrim isn't for them, but i mean someone who's been playing quite a while, if they were to quit it would surprise me.
Obviously i haven't covered everything in this topic but tell me what you think, i'd love to know if you agree or if you think Skyrim is a more quitable game than the generic first person shooter 'Call of Duty'...thanks for reading, jeazz.

Well, I thought the same of Oblivion, then Skyrim came out, and now I won't quit Skyrim. I'll probably "quit" Skyrim when TES VI comes out (Really just taking a break, like I am with Oblivion).

As there's so much to do and its unpredictable, this is what i feel keeps audiences interested long enough to become addicted (to an extent) :P

I've never seen loyalty so extreme in a series. Even with Skyrim out, I see people who still play Morrowind. It must've been one awesome game. I know Oblivion was, I just liked Fallout 3 and NV better.

you say you will 'quit' Skyrim when TES IV comes out but its not really you quitting, its just you moving on to the new Elder Scrolls. :P

Bethesda are very good at what they do, if you're an adventurous type of person, you'll get hooked with ever elder scrolls game, not just Skyrim

I doubt I'll ever play the game again, and I'm a massive elder scrolls fan. Figure that one out

Whenever I get a new game, I always end up debating with myself if I should quit and play some more Skyrim.

yeah i mean things like NHL, FIFA etc will always have that 'i want to buy the next one' feel, just because they say they add more. Skyrim however is just an all time great.

What makes it great is the intuitive leveling system. Encourages you to try a lot of builds.

haha well yes, the people who are addicted to the 'first person generic shooter' which is called, call of duty. dont get me wrong its a fun game, but it has NOTHING on Skyrim or any of TES for that matter.

i totally agree, the variety too, there's so much to do and its all optional.

So rarely people stop playing Skyrim, that every time one does so, he comes to post his "I am selling Skyrim" topic and rant about how he is going to ditch Bethseda.
EDIT. Grammar

I have shelved Skyrim for the time being (PS3) after over 600 hours. Currently playing Oblivion for the first time ever...still not sure how I feel about it. Seems a little "slow" compared to Skyrim.

I take breaks every once and there (like right now, until patch 1.8 and Hearthfire are released...probably next week or the other), but with Skyrim it'll be probably the same than with Oblivion (which I definitely left on June 2011...yes, exactly 5 months before Skyrim was released).

If you think it's difficult to leave it on console, with PC it's just impossible...there's just too much to do, just too much to try. As soon as you think you're done with it, a new cool questmod appears, or some nice items you want to see how it fits your character, or a new way to roleplay or to gameplay...or you just start playing with the CK and slowly become addicted to it. Or you take some ENB config and pose mods, and take amazing pics of your character, landscape or whatever...possibilities are just endless.

That's why I just love the PC version of this game
