Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:34 pm

I was readin some info on the legion and saw how they make new memberes get slavor tatoos? How will this affect our relationship with other factions? Will anybody talk to us or just shoot us on site? Will we even be allowed in the vegas strip beacuse its controlled by the NCR afterall?

it may lower your charisma. but i doubt they would force a negative effect on people that wanted to align with CL

My hopes are that the Legion can take over the strip, if you help them. Maybe that is what the explosion is in the trailer on the strip.

This was the case in FO2 and it lowered charisma and gave us unique dialoge options, so I imagine it will be the same in vegas.

It should effect you're relationship with factions. Where did you get this info? It's something I was hoping for. In FO and I think FO2 if you join the Slavers they Brand you with their mark and it effects how other factions see you.

The explosion in the trailer where the guy in the suit is walking away from it? I'm pretty sure that was some of the new C4 charges that were set and detonated. :tops:

I hope so as well. I was hoping they would hold us down and take a hot iron out of the fire and brand us but tattoo works as well. Hopefully removing it is not an easy thing to do.

For the record, FO1 didn't have slaver tattoo, FO2 did.

The way it worked was that "good" people wouldn't talk to you or offer you quests/shop/other help, but you obviously got tons of money from enslaving people early on. I suspect it wont go to this extent in New Vegas, but just make it so that everyone knows you belong to the Legion (help from people who like them, hostilities from people who don't). Or it could be purely cosmetic.

Wasn't that Tattoo unique to Metzgers band of slavers? I'm having a hard time believing there's a universally accepted brand used by all Slaver organizations. I would imagine each has their own distinct calling card, tattoo or other.

I was thinking Joining the Khans in FO1 anyways I hope the tattoo in New Vegas works the same way as it does in FO2. I am sure their will be dialogue were you can use it to intimidate those that will not talk with you for being a slaver.

I hope for this and other permanant markings. In "Book of Eli", people are always asking to see Eli's hands. Apparantly, killers get a finger cut off and they're marked for life or something like that?

Wouldn't doubt it. Tattoo showing your status within another faction, makes other factions look bad while associating with you. Makes sense.

in the movie they wanted to see his hands because it was a common symptom for cannibals to develop quivering hands. if you couldn't keep your hands from shaking your were likely a cannibal.

Who can say. It might be a pivotal moment in a questline.

.............. realy watch the trailer again, its a row of c4 and a mini nuke going off.
it aint hard to figure out. if you still cant get this look at the distance between him and the explosion, if the town was being blown up you would be dead by the force of the explosion with how close you are to it.

The problem I foresee is the complaint of "but I'm wearing a Power Armor helmet and they can still see my tattoo!".

I'm pretty sure it was unique to Metzger and the Hub, my memorie's a bit foggy, but I don't think he was associated with the Legion.

The tattoo was unique to Metzger, and he wasn't involved with the Legion.

However, on early draft reports he was named Caesar- and Black Isle were going to do this in Van Buren, tattoo included, and as the guys who worked on VB are working on New Vegas, I'm expecting it. Not like I'll have it, as I'm working with NCR (smug look).

One of the major effects of the slaver tattoo in the second game is how it impacted your interactions with potential companions. John Cassidy refuses to join your party if you have the tattoo, and Sulik outright attacks you for it. Considering these are two of the most valuable companion characters in the game, most players think twice before signing up with one of these groups.

On the positive side it does give access to a good deal of free money and experience early on.

Then what makes him think the Legion would make you get a tattoo on your face?

Slavers can have different marks. So what if Metzger had a slaver mark. Ceaser's Legion is vast and from Arizona. They put people like Metzger to shame. The Legion has hundreds of Legions. They are a new super power. They tried to take over the Hoover Dam. I am sure by now the people of the Vegas wasteland will know their mark and fear it.

Also Metzger is dead has been for 38 years by the time of New Vegas. NCR has moved in an most likely destroyed all the slaver guilds.
