some fallout "icons" are missing NV ?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:42 am

i know there is been a lot of critiques, but things that make fallout unique just not there any more ?

I`ve played new vegas for a good cuple of hours, finished main quest line and ..i feel something is missing but what ?

Better graphic ? ..of course, making a new game with old engine is not really good thing but i dont mind

Beggers ? First thing that cach my attencion in fallout 3 was this guys begging for water , they are fallout icon and shud not be removed just changed

Radio ? ..in times of war you dont need some guy telling you "i love you all", this is not GTA ,whats going on here - revolution ? revelation ? somebody farted ?

(politics is what really fuels the player ,radio is another Fallout icon, but its wery bad)

Death Claws ? ..another icon yes, they got stronger and its only good thing for now

Bad guys ? ..Legion looks to me more like heroes than really bad guys, it needs to be more realistic faction

quests ? "Ghouls Question" ...is the name of the quest line ..and the leader of that evil empire has a problem with them

Slavery ? Thats nothing new in fallout, another icon too- "evil empire" hunts for ghouls , exposes them to hard work and starvation
many try to escape but they are stoped by flame trower units and dogs

"Final Solution" ? ..after ghoul colapsses and can not work anymore "empire" soldiers dont shoot them on spot, they thaking them somewhere ...?

....you can gues now where this is going, it will be revealded later ...Empire exposes them to wery high radiation, some of them die, some goes feral, one of hunderd becomes a glowing one

they using them as a wepaon of course , and your task is to stop them but it wont be easy

I know this scenario sounds familiar and may not be accepted by some nations... , but @#$% happens, and after all ..war newer changes
, sorry for bad eanglish

Maybe it's just me, but I have no idea what you're saying. I disagree with most of this 'list', if you even want to call it that.

What?

Apparently being in one Fallout game turns it into a staple of the series.

Better (or good) graphic is definitely NOT a staple of the series.

Rubbish.

Better graphic ? ..of course, making a new game with old engine is not really good thing but i dont mind

Fallout was never about the graphics- maybe if you ever play one of the 4 games that preceded Fallout 3 you'll get a feel for this.

Beggers ? First thing that cach my attencion in fallout 3 was this guys begging for water , they are fallout icon and shud not be removed just changed

Beggars: New to Fallout 3.

No "free karma manipulation" beggars: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, Fallout Tactics.

They are not a Fallout icon, and really shouldn't have been added in the first place.

Radio ? ..in times of war you dont need some guy telling you "i love you all", this is not GTA ,whats going on here - revolution ? revelation ? somebody farted ?

(politics is what really fuels the player ,radio is another Fallout icon, but its wery bad)

Again, the whole "Radio with DJ commentary" thing was added in Fallout 3. It wasn't there in the 4 games that preceded Fallout 3.

Do you even know what Icon means? Or...do you in fact know that Fallout 3 was the fifth Fallout game?

Death Claws ? ..another icon yes, they got stronger and its only good thing for now

They got stronger in New Vegas compared to the neutering Bethesda gave them in Fallout 3, yes.

Bad guys ? ..Legion looks to me more like heroes than really bad guys, it needs to be more realistic faction

Heroes? Riiiiiight, those heroic conquering slavers ...or is it their complete disdain for and abuse of women that makes you see them as heroic?

quests ? "Ghouls Question" ...is the name of the quest line ..and the leader of that evil empire has a problem with them

Uh...what? :scratches head:

, sorry for bad eanglish

yeah "Ghoul Question" lol ...if u been to school sometimes u wud know what i talking about, dont even try to figure it out

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki- show me this quest line you claim exists, typing "Ghoul Question" into their search got no results.

Although I suspect that trying to figure it out, given its source, is indeed an exercise in futility. Is it another of these "Fallout Icons" that mysteriously appeared 5 games into the series?

So...you want a faction of new Nazis, I guess? One that would treat ghouls as Jews?

What, the Legion enslaving captives that they don't brutally execute not doing enough for ya? And yes, I know that there are those who side with the Legion, but bear with me here. Hell, the NCR/Wastelanders themselves haven't been angels themselves, what with some blatant racism against super mutants or ghouls, and with regard to the NCR, the Massacre at Bitter Springs.

Again, while I'd argue that the Legion seems to be the most "bad" of the bad guys (Fiends and other gangs notwithstanding), there really isn't a necessarily good or bad faction. They all have their shining ideals and they all have darker sides.

If you want to kill Nazis (I assume you wouldn't want to do quests for these guys), couldn't you just play any ol' WWII game?

The only thing I could kinda agree with you on is the beggars. Now, I'm not calling them an icon of the series, nor would I want tons of them everywhere, but you'd think there would be more opportunities to throw in some beggars in places like Freeside. It would probably add realism, considering a lot of the people in Freeside are poor and are currently squatting on Kings territory. Perhaps be able to give certain people food, water or supplies? Just a random thought.

i see, it was abou what icon is ?

icon is of course something that is unique and associated with the game, not something that i want

, certainly its not a bad thing to have, or easy to get, but they dissmis it, or discard it in NV thats clear to me..

I'm sorry, but I got this far down on your list and I realized I cannot in any way or form fathom your viewpoint.

Bad guys ? ..Legion looks to me more like heroes than really bad guys, it needs to be more realistic faction

If your vision is so obscured that you see Caesar's Legion as heroes, you're either a brutal fanatic in nature or you're definitely not someone who Bethesda/Obsidian should consult about their faction design.

There are beggers in FNV. They are in freeside. They beg for money now. One of them gives you plenty of info for a cap for each "tip".

We know what an icon is. We're questioning if you do. Many of the things you list simply are not icons, they are only things you want.

I'm further confused by the nazi fascination. Caesar's Legion are brutal, fascist, genocidal, and engage in slavery. If you want medical experiments, the enclave where doing that stuff back in Fallout 2.

The only lack of an icon that left me going why was the lack of bobble heads... Was that only a Fallout 3 thing?

I played 1, and 2, but heck I have slept since then (a lot) so I don't really remember the finer points. I should buy them, and play them again... its been so long...

No, they aren't a Fallout icon. They're something that only appeared in Fallout 3 and were inane even there, what with how much water a human being needs per day.

Correct. Personally, I wouldn't have minded seeing bobbleheads return, provided they didn't give any stat boosts.

"Ghouls Question" "Final Solution"

Basically he thinks the game should have been about Nazis.

Just what we need, another WWII shooter. There's just so few of those out there, you know.

Fallout Icons?

the Vaults
Vaultboy
Pipboy
Super Mutants
Ghouls
the 50's "world of tomorrow" outlook in both style of architecture and in the crazy weapons (ray guns, vacuum tube robots)
Dark humor
Power armor
Deathclaws (maybe)
