Some weird ponies in your life

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:12 pm

A few days ago I won what's called the Paul Ogle scholarship in my state (IN). It's a $6000 scholarship that's awarded to exactly one prospective student in the state per year. The winner of the scholarship is determined by GPA alone.

... how did I get this, I don't pay attention to my grades and I don't like school.

EDIT: I also have a gigantic nine inch scar that runs down the inner side of my left thigh. I got it during an operation to remove an equally huge birthmark that may have potentially threatened my future with skin cancer. True story.

EDIT 2:

If this is a story it's a good one.

what are somethings that have happened in your life that you are incredible
when i was 12 a firework shot off really close to me and damaged my ears, i had reduced hearing
when i was 17 i was listening to some music and all of a sudden it got really loud, i thought i was delusioned but my hearing came back

That reminded me of a weird thing I had with my hearing once - happened after a train came into the station, was one of the old ones where the brakes would make a really loud screeching noise. After that particular screeching noise I noticed I was hearing "double" - like, if someone said something I'd hear it in a chorus, as if two people were saying it synchronously.

Another weird thing, when I was little I had a dream I was very big, and looking down on the Earth. When I woke up I heard everything magnified, I had to use the bathroom and was terrified because every tiptoe step I took sounded like a giant stamping down.. I remember being afraid my parents would wake up! :D

For months the beginning of my dream is occasionally the same, maybe twice a thrice a month. Some of the dreams start off in an area very similar to my backyard, but seemingly bigger. The creek behind it is cleared in the front mostly and it is flatter. I will just be standing there looking out, sometimes different people are there, and eventually I can see black bears roaming around, and I will wait until they get close then I leave and the dream does whatever it wants to.

Now that I think of it I have had a lot of dreams where crazy stuff happens in forests.

I think one thing and then 20 minutes my opinion changes and then it changes again and again and again until I'm back to my original opinion and then I stick with that for a few days before rinsing and repeating the previous :P

My electric razor ran out of charge this morning. I look like I shaved while I was drunk.

I accidentally cut in line in front of an African immigrant at a newsagency, causing him to flip out and attempt to punch me. Weird thing was, I didn't even say a word to him, he just tried to grab and swing at me.

When I was 2/3 I: Hallucinated that there were eyes on the walls, massive eyeballs staring at me, and there was a fire burning and that there was a evil devil trying to catch me and lock me away. There was; the evil lady who was watching me for MONEY. Heartless wench!

When I was 4/5: Ran around a house, skull got fractured and time warped around me and I could see EVERYTHING that happened over the course of 45 minutes in what felt and looked like two, everything was blurry and lightlike like some city lights video.

When I was 5/6: Tonsils were removed, I was awake and I have NEVER been more scared of everything. Couldn't breathe for a while, and I hallucinated that ice blew over the hospital room, a ice minitornado (like some dust devil, just made of ice bits) went across, and that a giant tuna swam in the frozen air.

When I was 3-11: I could move my legs joints out of their sockets (as in detach them at will and reattach them as well) and wiggle them around a bit, usually caused HORRIBLE leg cramps afterwards.

And theeeen there's my whole advlt life as well, and I'm not really wanting to say it all.

I can do the fuzzy eyes too.

One time, when I was just making macaroni and cheese, my stovetop just exploded.

I've had bouts of sleep paralysis

That's about it.

I stopped drinking for 15 months (so far.) Its not so bad after a while.

Wow I didn't even know what that was until I looked it up, and realised I get that sometimes, when I'm falling asleep (which is apparently common.) It's so weird. One minute my body feels like its stretching and I'm going to touch both walls, then all my furniture will be massive, towering over me, and I think it will take forever to reach the other side of the bed.
were you taking acid at the time?

Dude, it was seriously an accident, and please don't be racist. My parents are immigrants and I find your comment quite offensive

You pointed out he was an African immigrant, while mentioning it was superfluous to the statement. You could have easily said "some guy"...

Just sayin'

I guess one "weird" thing in my life would be my lack of headaches. I used to think only a few people got headaches and that everyone else didn't but lately it seems everyone but me gets them. I think some are just pretending to have gotten one though (why I do not know) because from what studies I've read recently have told me a good 90% of people get them but that still leaves 10% that shouldn't be getting them which is a fairly large number.

My dad complains about headaches at least once a week.

But I rarely get headaches. When I do it's only for a couple of minutes. Only once have I had a crippling painful headache and unfortunately that one lasted quite a while.

You still get them though which puts you amongst the 90%, what I wonder is where is the rest of the 10% that have never had a headache ?

I used to do that a lot, but not with an image but just the feeling of falling. Annoying as hell.

It's like I'm dreaming, but because I'm still slightly awake my conscious mind switches back and the dream 'collapses' so to speak.
It's odd.
Sometimes I wake up in a sweat as well, strange things go on in the sleeping mind

I said it to emphasise that he might not have been use to the customs of my country. It really doesn't matter though, the point is that this guy tried to punch me for something that was really petty, which is what this thread is about (weird random stuff happening).

And plus, there's nothing wrong with being called an immigrant. My parents are still called that, where people ask them "you're not from around here are you?" and they reply happily with "Yeah, we immigrated here from etc. etc.", ....and they've been in Australia for well over 25 years!

Hope that clears it up

Note: My parents also did pretty weird stuff when they first arrived here in Australia. They would do stuff like stopping in the middle of the road when the pedestrian lights told them to stop walking. So when I say "immigrant", it's solely to point out how cultural differences can cause someone to do stuff considered "out of the ordinary" that can be a source of randomness/amusemant.

Everyone seems to have crappy dreams. Like oh I was running and then got scared or other lame stuff. I killed a [censored] dragon the size of a mountain in my dreams. Another time I was in a drop pod shot at the planet. I could feel every little rock and jolt on the way down in my dream and thought I was going to die. Then I was fighting bugs in an armored mech and did die. At least it was awesome. Everyone else seems to have punk dreams where they go out with a wimper. I don't dream often. Oh wait I know how to say this.

I don't always dream, but when I do I make sure I'm a badass.

Another time I was a T-Rex stomping around murdering other dinosaurs. It was truly epic and better than anything Jurrasic park could have done.

Edit
Or after a 24 hour gaming session with Fallout 3. There was a sign on the bus that said pleas vacate seat in case of disabled person. I kind of dozed off or perhaps I day dreamed it or hallucinated it but at first I read it as "Please vacate these seats in case of nuclear blast."
