The fact that it is cheaper? No need to give them too much since the piracy is already rampant.

Hopefully Xbox gets some sweet DLC.

DX11 support and mod tools would be great.

How do you explain TW2, Bioshock, Dungeon Defenders, Portal 2, Fallout NV and a plethora of indie games who all have performed well on the PC, sometimes better than on consoles? Combating piracy by making the PC version worse will lose the developer money, not gain them any. Unless you want Bethesda Softworks to turn into another Ubisoft.

It would be interesting to see what could be done on a game like this with an editor.

Also, x64 and sli support with dx11 would be awesomeness!

^That would be great. Just hope there's no DRM, because this is what happens when they do put DRM.

I would prefer to be able to play without Steam, since they ripped me off twice.

Also mod tools with this game would be sweet.

You'd be surprised how much piracy there is on consoles too. I'm guessing you're not aware at how rampant it is on consoles purely because you have not been informed. You just need to go to the right forums and you'll see thousands of users downloading pirated copies of the latest console games. Don't just jump on the bandwagon and follow common misconceptions.

I'm not saying that PC gaming has zero piracy, but the way you speak is as if piracy is non-existent on consoles which is false. Nearly a million copies of Gears of Wars 3 were pirated since its release on XBox 360, same with MW3 (830,000 copies on Xbox 360 alone) and that's just in 2 months!

I would much prefer if the game at least did release on Steam.

PC gaming is all about options. If you had a bad experience with Steam that's fair enough - you should have the option of not using Steam. But there are over 30 million happy users with 4-5 million peak users every day. I think that would be a nice audience to tap into and will give the game an instant injection of interest. I also know that there are many willing to only purchase games if it comes out on Steam too.

So I do hope if they choose to release this with people like you in mind, then release a no-Steam version as well as a Steam version... to suit both audiences.

And yet, I was forced to use Steam for Skyrim. Never again. If Dishonored is Steam-locked, I'll be so disappointed...

I don't expect any PC extras, beyond the ability to make graphical tweaks. But extras are always welcome.

A mod tool would be very nice. I myself like Steam very much, but a non-steam version would also be nice for people who don't like steam

I'm not sure what the licensing is for releasing a level editor with an Unreal 3 game, but if it's at all possible, it would absolutely rock!

Just look at some of the fan stuff out there for other games in this genre. The potential is huge.

I'll throw my vote in for these as well. I wouldn't really be disappointed if there were no DX11 though, from what I've seen it looks great anyway, really diggin their style.
As for mods, well, making the game customizable makes it 1000% better. Although they wouldn't have a massive community to tap like TES does it would still be a good thing to have and it would probably help grow their fanbase for future titles/sequels which would be good since arkane don't appear to be all that well known.

As a side note I'd really be surprised if it isn't steam exclusive. The publisher handles distribution and Bethesda made their last 3 titles steam exclusive so that doesn't bode well for those looking for other options.

Bethesda Game Studios' or Bethesda Softworks' titles?

:cryvaultboy:

I really want to buy this game, but I won't if it's Steam-locked. If all it requires is a Steam activation, that's fine. But if I'm constantly forced to patch, update, and affirm that, yes, I am legally playing this game, forget it. I refuse to be treated like an idiot and a criminal.

I'll probably just play a friend's copy, then.

the newest nvidia driver already supports SLI for dishonored.

New in Release 296.10
  • Adds support for the new GeForce GTX 560 SE GPU.
  • Updates PhysX System Software to version 9.12.0213.
  • Boosts SLI performance in the following games:
    • Blacklight: Retribution – up to 1.8x performance increase
    • DiRT 3 – updated DX11 profile to improve menu performance
    • Dishonored
    • ....
you can cross that out on your list.
I'd rather see a stable, good performing engine with mod-support, no input-lag or mousesmoothing, a pletora of config-options (inlcuding FOV) - hidden in ini's or the menu -
I don't care for some slapped on dx11 tessellation or physx support.
They do not bring enough fidelity to justify the time it takes to implement and finetune.

Bethesda Softworks (the publisher) titles: Skyrim, Rage, Brink, Fallout NV all steam exclusive... so yeah..
A steam activation automatically entails all of what you said btw.

I hadn't used Steam until Skyrim (which Bethesda managed to forget to tell everyone they'd need to play Skyrim...), but I'm under the impression that there are games where Steam is only required for activation. And if you don't want to ever connect again, or if you want to patch the game without logging onto Steam, you can do so. I'll be okay with that for Dishonored. I'll not be okay with having to log every few months or lose access, or having to update from Steam, or... :nono:

Bethesda never hid the fact that it required steam
I've never heard of a game using steam solely for activation.

I read 21 replies, but not 1 from a Developer/admin/mod or someone who is not a gaming member. As always we are left in the dark and wil have to do with a simple xbxox360 clone.
Is it so hard to tell us, the game journalist or put our a press statement about the pc version when a game is being developed?

Will it have FOV? Will it have the latest PC directX11 options, will have it gamepad support?

Marketing only started last week. There hasn't even been any gameplay footage released. Chill and out and wait until we actually start hearing more about the game. It's not even close to time to start whining yet.
