Spouses can live everywhere
--------------------------------------------------

Author: Amgepo, Emma
Ver: 0.9 BETA
Cathegory: Followers and houses
Requirements: Skyrim

Download: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11370

Description:
------------
With this mod, you can settle down with your spouse wherever you want - in houses added by other mods, a vanilla shack, a dungeon or even on the road. Yes, if your spouse annoys you, you can even send him/her to live in a prison or under a bridge... The options are unlimited, and your spouse will have the same AI-packages and vendor features as in vanilla homes.
Still, the main purpose with this mod is of course to make spouses live in houses from mods the same way they do in vanilla houses.

How does it work?
-----------------
A new lesser power (Mark New Home) will be added to your character's Spells list. You activate it from the spells list, and you cast it with the z-key (like a shout).
Each time you use the "Mark New Home"-power, the place you are in will be set as a potential new home for your spouse (a message in the upper left corner will confirm that it worked).
However, you should also talk to your spouse. When you ask your spouse to move to a new place, a new option has been added that allows you to say that you have a new home to share with him/her.
If you choose this option, your spouse will go to live in the place you have selected with the "Mark New Home"-power.
If you have forgotten to cast the power before talking to your spouse, he/she will, if not in following-mode, wander off to the default-destination which is the Temple of Mara in Riften.
However, this shouldn't be a problem. Once you have told your spouse that he/she is supposed to live in your "new home", he/she will automatically relocate to any place where you cast the "Mark New Home"-power.
So, if you miss your lifetime companion and is currently in a far away location, you can still cast the "Mark New Home"-power, and the spouse will travel to you. (If you are far away from him/her the travel can take some time, though - spouses aren't very fast in their movements).

I can see with this mod that won't be long before we can play Vilja in Skyrim, because with this mod which is a good idea imo reminds me to much about the features Vilja had in Oblivion. :whistling:

Thanks to both of you and congratulations to your release! :celebration:

Well, I can't deny that I'm tinkering on a Skyrim companion ;) but I swear that it would take a VERY long time for her to be in such a shape that I would want to release her. But, of course, as soon as I released my first house-mod for Skyrim, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8045]Highview Cottage[/url], I realized that a mod for allowing spouses to live anywhere would be dearly needed. Amgepo and I discussed the matter, and he, unlike me, had the scripting skills to make sure that the mod could become reality.

Now that folks are beginning to create some nice house mods (I've downloaded 10 already) a mod like this is very much needed. As our lists fill up with house mods and companion mods this is going to become really essential. Thanks to you and thanks to Amgepo for making and releasing this!

Nice. I suppose I should actually get married in-game to test now.

Of course it would be dearly needed in Skyrim as you're dearly needed for this community of all TES games. :trophy: :tes:

Well, the whole idea originated from trying to imagine what would happen if every housemodder used his/her own strategy to add a new house to the list of houses where spouses can live. Having a special mod dealing with this must be beneficial both for mod users and house modders. This is a beta-version of the mod, but I think it will have to be expanded to include living arrangements also for other followers, and maybe also for pets. However, as stated before, so much of this mod is Amgepo's work and thoughts that he is the one who should decide what to add and how to do it.

Well, to be honest, the absolute majority of the work with this mod is done by Amgepo, not by me. So, he is the one who is awesome :)

Well, if you aren't married in real-life, testing how it is ingame might be a good idea... or a discouraging idea, depending on how you look upon it.

I married my Markath housekarl (big, one-eyed bloke with dirty iron armor; i bet he had tossed one eye on the other women in Markath already :P), and the only thing he is doing is EATING. My food :(. And then he is sleeping. In his OWN bed. Wearing his dirty iron armor. Somehow, I get the impression he doesn't fancy me much :(.

Markath housekarl
My character married him too. In my game he never even slept, he just sat at the table and ate. Lydia did the same thing in Breezerun. That was actually kind of creepy, because she sat on a chair in my character's bedroom the whole time. When my character would wake up she'd get up off the chair and then sit back down and start eating again. It's a wonder she never gained weight!

There is a whole lot of room for improvement in follower/housecarl/spouse AI. Of course I'm not suggest that you do anything about it. I'm just making an innocent observation. *whistles*

Well, to include followers in this mod, their AI package need to be handled, maybe changing something here and there...

No need. Once you have married Lydia, all that you need to do is add the MarriageSpouseWhiterunSandboxPlayerHouse ai package to Lydia and she will perform all her marriage duties (well, except for one....... :whistling: )

I was going to wait until you were older to explain this, though since you brought it up. When a man (or a woman) loves a woman (or a man)...

Thanks for making this mod.

I recall hearing something like that. There was something about bees and flowers also... can't remember. I was too drunk :P

I'm pretty sure he means the laundry, I've never seen the spouses do the laundry. Could be toilet-cleaning, too, as there are no toilets...

Probably there will be more spells than the ones used ingame. Maybe something to send wastes to Oblivion (that would explain why Dagon was so upset in TESIV :P ).

Thankyou for this mod guys :)

Does this specifically edit any of the spouses in the game? Would it be incompatible with mods that change a spouse's appearance or AI packages for example?
