Stealthy Characters and DragonsBosses

Stealth has never been a reliable go-to in Elder Scrolls. At least not for the last two games. You still need some face-to-face fighting ability, for when they won't turn around and for when there's more than one. I don't expect Skyrim to deviate.

Equip your light armor, your sword, your bow, and go at him.

Wait till the dragon is distracted and backstab it.

Now seriously, that's what I'll use bows for.

In many of the RPGs I play I prefer my stealth classes, but in many of them I don't even play the main questline and avoid the boss fights. Not out of cowardice, but only because I enjoy the stealth roleplay element.

Invisibility/Chameleon spells? Run into forests to hide? (I'm betting a big bulky dragon can't fit between trees) Generally make use of the terrain to hide (Like the tree thing i mentioned or even hiding in buildings...) Get companions and let them tank it?

Easiest way is to not be a coward , pick up a real weapon and do some dragon stomping

With the ranked improved one-handed damage perk, the 15x back-stab multiplier perk plus the most potent poisons I can possible create applied to a pair of dual wielded highly enchanted daggers with the perk that causes poisons to last beyond one hit not forgetting the increased dual wielding speed perk I will do my level best to stealth kill a few dragons.....

How do you plan on backstabbing something that is in flight? It would be very interesting to see someone try.

Kite the dragon to the nearest town. Let the NPCs die so you don't have to.

Do you mean feed companions to dragon and when it's happily eating, backstab it?

Fast = Hit less.
Bow = Hit less.
Magic = Hit less.
Stamina = Run/Attack more = Hit less.

Seems to pan out

Edit : Oh, by "Hit less" I mean your character is hit less, not you do less damage. Just to avoid confusion ^_^

What makes you think suprise isn't possible? Oh nevermind, I see your worries are likely spiraling as the game nears release....anxiety is fun.

We will find out once we get to play the game. I certainly look forward to the solutions people are able to find or create. One of the demos featured a thief who ran away when discovered. Several used traps to kill enemies. This time we even get to set traps of a sort.

He who runs away lives to fight another day!
Train the enemy into a town
Potions to get the first strike
Poisons on said first strike
Follow it back to its lair, read it a bedtime story, and the stab it since it was foolish enough to trust you
Set a locational spell (like those fire trap thinigies)
Hope your spouse is your perfect match and fills in your weaknesses :wub:
Game the AI
Select a good covered firing position
Use weightless carrots and build a ladder to a high point to snipe from

In other words, adapt and overcome. Why be stuck in one mode?

I'm actually going to disagree with you. I ran the main quest with a stealth based character in both games Morrowind and Oblivion. Simply because you do not have the ability to do so, doesn't mean that others don't.

The way I am going to kill a dragon is simple. My main character is a Spell Assassin he duel weilds enchanted daggers and enchanted daggers + magic. Therefore, he is well equipped instead of having to hold an extra bow.

If you mean a stealthy characters lack of physical strength, then I'd suggest focusing on alchemy and marksman perks.

I've done the same, and my stealth characters had to do very little killing in either MQ. There were some fights (especially in Oblivion) which we couldn't/didn't avoid, those playthroughs were not slaughter fests.
