Storage container?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 1:34 pm

Thing is Im running around with some crafting items way above my crafting level. I dont want to throw them away or sell them and I dont want to own a house. Its just silly that I cant rent a room or the likes :/

Um... correct me if I'm wrong, but you CAN rent a room.

Ever heard of an Inn? They're in most towns etc. There's a chest at the end of the bed to store your crap in. Make sure you keep renting the room and you should be good to go. Test it first though.

Keep renting the inn room? Seriously? Bro that's super lame.

Does anyone know if the containers in the room at the College of Winterhold respawn? I put almost all of my stuff in there a day ago in game and I don't want to lose it all to container respawn.
I too want to know this... If anyone has tested it please report. :) So sick of dragging all the Dwemer items with me, they're heavy as hell! That reminds me, I need to figure out a good use for them.

In my experience, the storage in inn rooms is crap. It's all marked as "steal from" rather than the usual "search" on the action. As soon as you put stuff into those chests, you get a 1 septim bounty on your head. (This has happened to me about 5 times until I just started cramming my stuff in a random barrel.)

I'm hoping that container resets don't actually happen, but the lack of any real storage before a house is kind of annoying. I expected to be able to at least use inn rooms at the beginning while working toward a house.

My plan is to try the room in the college of magic.

Also considering a mod that addresses some of these issues as soon as the creation kit is available.

Wrong, In Oblivion, most containers respawned.

But certain types of sacks and sacks in certain locations didn't. It would have been so nice if when your first contact in Riverwood gives you a key, they'd also said that if there was anything you needed to store, you could leave it in the chest by the {whatever]. Particularly games with crafting need to offer places to store materials.

true, clams and open grain sacks was exceptions. Then the CS is out I or someone else will look for default safe containers.
Main problem is that we don't know exactly how respawning work in Skyrim.
However if some containers in an cell has respawned and other has not the container should be safe.
