Such a SMALL selection of Swords!

What would have been good bayonets.

As for swords, I don't really see the need to have them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwGg_F7s7xg

Well there were swords in the Star Trek movie.

Melee weapons are actually quite optimal in combat during certain situations. Such as close-quarter fighting and killing an enemy silently.

So they're even, for now. If the last add-on doesn't have a single sword then they can expect me NOT to buy this next one in June, AND the last in July. Period.

Swords none seenso far but we have seen an axe called the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic_baton. Though in fuction it appears more like an axe version of the shock sword from Operation Anchorage back in FO3. But seriously Hippnotic go play Oblivion, Morrowind, World of Warcraft some fantasy RPG game and calm down. There may not be two dozens swords but there a plenty of good melee weapons such as Knock Knock, the Themric Lance.

I can kind of see where the disappointment is coming from. Basically in Melee you have a whole pile of really crappy stuff that becomes five minutes after you find it (switchblade, razor) and then the really massive hard hitters (rebar club, super sledge, fire axe), without a lot of middle ground. Also, stylistically, many of the melee weapons are improvised (tire iron, pool cue) or crudely constructed (nailboard, rebar club) compared to the cool looking guns and "unarmed" gauntlets. A sword is an obvious choice to be a light, fast, moderately damaging purpose-built melee weapon.

The design of the sword is based on the greek "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopis". So no, its not just a big knife. It's also a hell of a lot better sword than the Chinese officer sword as well, since its actually decent in combat.

Pretty sure it is a Nepalese Kukri. Kopis is more of a butcher knife.

I'm guessing there isn't a million swords in NV because this is Fallout and not TES.

There are less swords in FO:NV therefore it is clearly a sub-par game. Glad to see we're on the same level here.

Man I just love the Fallout 3 generation. All they care about is getting a fancy new laser gun.

Oi oi oi! I'm all for pointing out the faults of the Fallout 3 generation, but I basically started in FO3 and can honestly say I'm more concerned with storyline than with shiny new weapons (though I do admit I love me some new guns.)

BTW - This was intended as a joke (though I did seriously start, well... really start playing with FO3.), sorry if it comes across differently.

On topic - Honestly, I would love having more swords for melee weapons, but I am satisfied with the Machete Gladius and the Shishkebab (made more abundant through HH :teehee: ). Though honostly, if I want more swords i'll go play Oblivion or wait for Skyrim. :teehee:

Morrowind is expensive to find. And im not the richest person in the world. (Most copies I see/find are 35-45 even sometimes 60$USD)
Beat the utter OBLIVION, out of OBLIVION. (100% achievements and quests, if I hear one more person say this i'm going to scream...)
WoW, my computer svcks and can't handle high-tech games, plus im on a laptop. I'd be lucky if I could play Halo 1 PC..

So before you come in here telling me that, read posts before you?

Also, what's the point of Knock-Knock when I get the "Knock Down" melee perk? And like i've previously stated basically EVERY Melee weapon svcks besides Oh Baby! There is absolutely NO balance whatsoever when it comes to the Melee weapons. Hell, I think the Unarmed weapons are more balanced if im not mistaken.

I like using Melee/Unarmed in Fallout, it's a change from being able to kill LITERALLY anything with "This Machine" or "Dinner Bell". And as someone else stated they're good for really Close Quarters fighting, and also Sneak Attacking people! It just so happens that I love Swords!

Hell i've loved Swords since The Legend of Zelda on the NINTENDO (NES). I've always been a "Sword and Shield" guy at heart...

** Its funny... Planescape is perhaps my favorite RPG, its D&D, and it has no swords for the most part. Dakon has one that he molds from a special metal with his mind, but there aren't any others that I know of. Its all knives axes and hammers.
