Updated the configs to v2.0 for the new patch to allow for settings to be changed via config file or the console!!! Here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2156747 :D

What key is the console bind to?
Thanks for the update, gave it a try last night, seems to work well.
I know in the old days it was bind to ~ key.

Seems to me half the options in your CFG aren't working or options at all?

Allot of the settings are from old id Software games that don;t have any influence @ Rage as the cvars are-
A: not present
B: you can "seta all you want but if the cvar doesn't exists in RAGE it won't make any difference.

I'll second that. Through some miracle I managed to get a clean install of the first preview driver (KB-121) and a custom config to give me 5 hours of 60fps play this past holiday Monday in Canada. One system reboot later and I was back at square one. Unplayable. A clean install of the newest preview driver (KB-122) and about 1 hour screwing around with configs, I gave up. I really just don't care anymore. I've had a blast with the game, the little bit I managed to play, but I've got better things to do. Call me when it's patched properly. Until then I don't give a [censored] anymore.

Bumping to help others.

How exactly are you unlocking this "listener" after patch? I'm sure the rest of the people playing a patched game are interested.

He's trying to change the s_LockListener variable, which he believes has something to do with cvar locking.

I think he is running a different version of the game to be honest.

There's no way to unlock locked cvars simple as that.

Half your config is useless and the funny thing is that everybody is copy&pasting your useless cvars, shows that they know just about as much about the cvars and game as you. Comes down to "nothing"

@ s_LockListener

Anything that begins with s_ are sound options.

i was thinking the same thing...when he said the patch broke his game.

the one command that you might want to set is vt_maxPPF

i have a quad core so i set it to 16 but you should enable the console

and try a race map with vt_maxPPF 8 then restart at 16 then 32....ive seen it can hurt my performance at default vt_maxPPF 128

with it set to 8 i get the best framerate but some popin.

regards
