PC System Requirements Will My PC Run Dishonored?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:30 pm

Hello, I am going to get dishonored but I am worried about getting it for my pc. I was wondering if anyone knew if dishonored will run smoothly on my alien ware M17X, heres a link to it ((http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-m17x-r4/pd))
I have never upgraded the graphic card so i believe its only the 1500 one...
i cant seem to find my system require ments, please help!

-Frosty
It will most likely run very well.

Can also try http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/

Dishonored is selectable from the game menu.
Systemrequirementslab isn't always a good way to go though. According to that website my graphic card will fail at it, but I'm pretty sure it will run very well.

Same here, It says my card will fail but as some people told me on this forum it is most likely to run very well on low and I speculate somwhat less well on mid. Systemrequirements lab is good for testing stuff such as processor but not grafics cards

It's more of a general guideline than a definite, true enough. :) But can still check it out, see what it says.

You both might be able to pass on minimum. Don't count on it though, you're the absolute lowest for the minimum.

The official minimum requirements have the 1920x1080 resolution in mind, so if they play in 1280x720 or maybe even something lower, they are probably fine. Especially if they run without any AA.

So, (I think it would be the best if Arkane replied ;) ), could I run the game if I played the stealthy (the way I like ;) ) way and in 1366x768 (it would be the best resolution for me)?

Minimum Spec:
  • OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Processor: 3.0 GHz dual core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB system RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
  • Sound: Windows compatible sound card
Recommended Spec:
  • OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Processor: 2.4 GHz quad core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB system RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 768 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
  • Sound: Windows compatible sound card

I have:

- 32bit Vista
- Intel Q9450 Quad Core 2,66 GHz
- 4GB RAM
- GeForce GTX 275 896mb

System requirements lab says that I have only 3,1GB RAM and that GTX 275 has only 4.0 pixel and vertex shaders so, I wouldn't pass minimum. What do you guys say? I'm buying this game either way, but is my RAM and graphic card going to cause me problem?

32bit Windows can't allocate 4GB, so it only use 3,1 of those 4, so that is correct. Even if you had 16GB RAM then it would still just say 3,1GB. To use more you need 64bit Windows. And "only" having pixel shader 4.0 shouldn't matter either since it's a pixel shader 3.0 game.

In any case, I don't think either will cause you any problem, you probably run the game just fine.

Hello guys,
I just wanted to know if Dishonored worked on my PC.

I got a Dell XPS15 L502x Notebook.

Intel Core i7 2,9GHZ
6GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA Geforce GT525M (600MHZ Core Clock; 1200MHZ Shader Clock; 900MHZ Memory Clock; 128Bit; 1024MHZ VRAM)

Skyrim sets its default settings on "high". Battlefield 3 works on middle.

I appreachiate every help I can get! I hope you understand that I dont want to spend 50€ without knowing wether it works or not.

Thanks

EDIT:
About 30 to 40fps should be enough. I don't need to have 60.

If you can run Battlefield 3, then you can probably get a nice playable framerate in Dishonored too :)

It actually even runs on Acer Aspire ONE 722 (which is technically a netbook):

AMD Dual-Core C-50 1 GHz
4 GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 6250 (uses 256mb of dedicated RAM)
Win 8 x64

On the minimum settings it is sort of playable (1280x960 actually works better that 800x600) and I'm sure can be made into completely playable by tweaking the abundance of .ini files.
