taking things slow......how are you playing?

I first started playing an Altmer mage (on expert), and I did get to the college of magic (or whatever it's called). I did die a lot along the way though. By then I realized I really felt like doing the main quest, so I started with a nord. I just killed the first dragon now, and I'm level 6 (still on expert). The dragon was really tough, and I killed him on the fourth try when I realized that even when he was down on the ground I shouldn't run at him, and instead keep peppering him with arrows and cowering away when he was gonna target me.

Now I've just crafted my complete superior steel set + superior steel greatsword. I think I'm first gonna do some more quests for money, buy a house, and then move on with quests.

Also I finally know how to fight properly with two handed weapons. You just wait until they start their striking animation, then you punch them in the face, then you do the powerattack.

Slow and steady. I had a couple issues. Twice I CTDd and when I tried to go 3D the game basically froze. I had to restart. Other than that I'm loving it. I'm playing as a stealthy high elven mage. I try to Sneak around and get off at least 1 poisoned arrow.

I thought I was sneaking up on a dragon. I readied my bow, used a poison and let it fly. Nothing. I slowly moved forward. My 'dragon' was a big cloth blowing in the wind. From my vantage point, it looked like a dragon flapping ts wings to keep warm or something.

The only read dragon I've seen outside of the opening scenes was way too high and far away to shoot at.

In my wanderings I have found 1 word, oaken skin spell, ward spell, sparks light healing and clairvoyance, I love using duo casting with fire/fire, sparks/sparks or sparks/fire. I want to try ward for defense while using an offensive spell in the other hand.

I played about 5 hours so far and I'm lvl 4 I think with no deaths yet on adept level.

I'm playing on Expert too. I tried ascending High Hrothgar but I got killed by an Ice Troll. I'm going to level up some more and get some better gear/weapons before I try again. Even my Fus shout didn't phase him. I have a companion named Lydia traveling with me. I gave her an Imperial Bow of Fear. She's been a great help especially on this difficulty. We almost got killed by an Ice Wolf if she hadn't used that bow.

I have to say it was well and truly worth the wait. They did a fantastic job. I'm going to delete my test character and start a new game proper but when I got out of (can't mention the name) I just had to stop and admire the view. I never finished Oblivion or Morrowind but you can be sure as [censored] that's all about to change.
