Telekinetic Warrior?

Post » Fri Jul 27, 2012 4:07 am

So, because I like trying to use game features for what they're obviously not meant for, I want to start a playthrough using telekinesis as one of my main offensive abilities. However, looking around on the internet I haven't been able to find any real info on how much damage throwing things with the spell does. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Hopefully it's not some paltry amount, it would be fairly awesome to take down a dragon with random junk that was lying around.

EDIT: I suppose it doesn't do any good damage, I was kind of hoping to pull off an Isaac Clarke style impalement kind of combat. If you're looking, Bethesda, that would be awesome to have some items do real damage when telekinetically thrown.

EDIT2: Besides having greater damage on some thrown items, a higher level version of telekinesis that could toss people and monsters around would be a great addition to the game. Hopefully that would be part of a large patch like horseback combat was, instead of waiting for another DLC to stuff it into.

It seems that you need some mods.
The best possible thing with telekinesis is knocking off oil jugs with random junk.

I am not sure if Telekinesis is fit to be a combat spell. I believe it works well with thieves to steal things from long distances, or simply grab loot from impossible places. Though, I am not sure if it can cause lethal damage or not. You can be a warrior that uses Alteration of course.

Ah, shame. I guess I'll have to find another non-offensive feature to weaponize.

Huh? That's what I meant, by throwing things not direct damage. I wanted to know what kind of damage picking up scrap and tossing it at an enemy caused.

Well, isn't that what Telekinesis is for? Picking objects up and flinging it at enemies? :disguise:

Well, that's one way to use it.

Throwing iron ore (for example) in enemy will cause no effect.Throwing pot in oil jug will cause damage.Because it will fall and burn the enemy.Throwing a broom on the floor button will activate a trap (fire or spiked,or falling stones,or other traps) and it will kill your enemy. If timed properly of course.

Really? Well that's awesome. Although it seems a bit more appropriate for a sneaky build, and I've done more of those than you could shake a poisoned dagger at.

Ah, that's what you meant. Well, like I said, it's good for stealthy characters.

Bah, every day I find myself regretting not having the PC version of Skyrim more and more. Telekinesis would be a lot of fun if I could use it for more than setting off traps and such. Still though, I think I'll be having fun with telekinesis.

Its kind of ridiculous that this was not turned into a reasonable offensive ability. Skyrim fell short on so many things when it comes to magic because they wanted to have shouts, which are a pathetic, pale imitation, that could have been removed for a greater variety of magical spells.

Would have to agree. Using Unrelenting Force on goats is fun and all, but I would take more magical spells than shouts any day.

Honestly, besides Unrelenting Force and a some of the new ones in Dawnguard that I won't talk about, I would plain forget that the right bumper was used in the game. Not that I think shouting is pointless, but normally if I wanted magic I'd make a magic character.
