What's your team? I may be interested in a week or two when Gardner and Cespedes get back.

What a day for my hitters today: 15-6-11-2-1.204. :D

My pitchers have done alright as well, would have been great but for Scherzer. Hopefully Billingsly can have a decent game against the 'Stros tongiht too.

I have 5 categories basically locked up against Redz. The other 5 are very close, be interesting to see what happens.

EDIT: What a strange line for Latos. 5 runs on 5 hits and no walks for an ERA of 6.14, but a fantastic WHIP of 0.68.

Ye Olde Gauchos are shooting for an epic final day collapse. Hopefully the current score holds.

Looks like you are good now.

In my game Colby Rasmus hits a HR in garbage time of a blow-out to give me a 10-0 lead on the Rockerz going into the late game. There are 3 categories potentially in play tonight.

R - I have 5 run lead
HR I have 1 HR lead
Saves - I have 1 save lead.

Redz has Pastornicky, Harper and Kimbrel left.

Harper went yard. And My pitching screwed me over. I wanted that blowout.

Damn Harper, cost me a shutout. I guess I can live with 9-0-1.

I know you were chasing wins but starting Drabeck against Texas seemed like a bad move from the start. Not much you can do about the other two [censored]ting the bed.

My offense is fine, I just need some serious help on my ERA and WHIP...and Saves too. I won't get far with the worst ERA in the league.

Yea, I'd like to see at least this on the font page:

Teams Forum Name - Team Name
sbr - Team NinjaFish
Ratwar - Ratwar's Horkers
Sivartus -Blernsball Braves
Steelers 95 - Clan Chowda
Thadeus Rains - North Texas Gauchos
Z.Man - Thirsk Mead Drinkers
redsrock - Red's Rockerz
Gstaff - Gstaff Infection
Ninja Monkey - Canadia Giraffes
Undead Fiend - Springfield Rams
Bitter Coast - Bitter Coast Warriors
Suffca - Team XII
...because I keep forgetting the non-obvious team names.

And Sivartus: I bet Suffca's 0 moves since the draft has been significantly hurting the performance of Team XII

Stupidly, I again forgot to check my starters for today and left Hamels on the bench. I guess I'm lucky in that he gave 4 earned runs, but he could still pick up the win :(.

Son of a [censored]. If Pedroia is seriously injured I'm just going ragequit life.

I updated the OP.

Look at that offensive outburst just sitting on my bench. Great way to start off the week.

I couldn't imagine keeping more than one or two (max) bench offensive players. With pitchers it's relatively simple to tell if they're going to be pitching or not, but it's kind of a crapshoot regarding offensive performance.

In news from the Bigger is not always Better Department: the first year after going from 10 to 12 teams we have 3 teams with 4 players on the DL still in their starting lineup and a fourth with 2.

I'm just raking in the saves right now and partially making up for my scuffling offense. I'm already tied for second in saves. Another day or two of this and I should be tops in saves.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you guys played Out of the Park Baseball? I was scanning new game releases and turned this up. It seems like a totally different animal from console baseball games, and everything that I've heard about it says it's more complicated but far more realistic and rewarding.

I have played it a bit. It is totally different, but very good as a management sim. I haven't played any of the recent releases, most of my time was on the '09 release. I have the '10 version but haven't spent much time with it, though I always mean to.

Seems like a pretty cool program. I took a quick look at it last night and it seems complicated as hell, so it's evidently going to take awhile to get the hang of.

My league is really becoming a dogfight now. After the first week of the season I had first place locked up for the better part of a month, but now I'm fighting for first with a couple of other teams. As long as I can hold out until a few of my guys catch fire (Gonzalez, Cabrera, Young, Willingham etc.) I should stay in it. At least my pitching is keeping me in the race.
