If that's the case, I can only dissagree. I don't like the thought of developers putting in hints about future DLC in the default game, because it indicates that they already thought of them before releasing the game, yet chose not to add it, probably just so they could milk more money from the fans. Now, obviously, it's possible that the designers wanted to do the content added in the DLC, but simply did not have time to, but if that's the case, they should at least have the dignity not to taunt us with content that we can't actually get until we pay an extra ten dollars. Now, just dropping the DLC somewhere and giving you a message telling you that it's there can sometimes seem a little glaring, but that depends on how its integrated, I mean, if you just add a note as soon as you start the game telling you where it is, that's going to seem out of place, but there are much better ways to introduce it too, and they don't necessarily need to require putting hints of it in the default game.
This post -literally- makes me cringe...
What kind of short-sighted lunacy are people suffering from, these days? Do people ACTUALLY think that DLC is content that hasn't been pre-planned from the get-go? Are there honestly people out there who are under the impression that some developer sitting around after release day says: "Oh, hell! I just remembered that there was this guy I wanted to make a story around! Let's fire up a DLC team!" or something? DLC is, at it's core, a system designed to milk you for money. The payoff, of course, being that you get MORE GAME for it! But don't ever delude yourself to the fact that they are PLANNING to add DLC even as they're creating the game itself. They're not just sitting around firing off ideas for cool [censored] to add to the game, then suddenly say 'Yeah, we need to do that one!'. Not usually, at any rate. That would be the exception, rather than the rule.
You have to make a decision, mate... and it's fairly simple. Either you need to accept that DLC is going to be a fact of your life, and simply allow it to be implemented in ways that make SENSE... or you need to settle for -not having it-... because personally, I don't think that however many of us out here who understand the true purpose of DLC should have to suffer from poor design decisions just because a sub-section of the potential market needs to be LIED TO in order to feel better about purchasing it.

Right then, with that out of my system... I -do- hope they talk some more about the Burned Man in DLC, at least, if not add him to the game. On the courier note, I haven't really gotten far enough into the game to even -think- about who that other courier was. So I suppose that that doesn't bother me too much. Really, I'm more curious about what kinds of things they WILL make for DLC.
Have they said anything about their plans other than that they DID have plans?
It should be interesting to see whether they aim for more of the 'Broken Steel' sort of DLC... or all the kind of smaller stuff which Bethesda chose to rule out entirely. Personally, I always wished that Bethesda would have made SOME of the less-expensive, less-involved DLC options as well. Sometimes all I really WANT is a few new guns and armors, in a shack.
Time will tell, I suppose.
