The best death animations ever

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:15 am

When I played Dead Space a few years ago, I didn't die often. I usually killed the enemies before they got the chance to do this:

Dead Space is rated 18+. The video contain gruesome imagery and last-boss spolier!

*removed*

My favorite scene is the first one, where you actually get turned into a zombie. I hate how in other games, like Resident Evil, you just die. You should become a zombie like everyone else

What games have the best player-death animations in your opinion?

Most of them aren't animations (being an older game ), but for the best death scenes I'd pick Waxworks.

I warn you, it's pretty gruesome:

I always liked a lot of them from Turok 2. You could decap just about everything. Explode enemies into pices. Mine layer would take their legs off at the knees. Can't forget the Cerebal Bore. Dug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5-uKxHUJYY&feature=relmfu up on youtube, shows all sorts of kills.

I loved that little pyramid thing you could throw on the ground that svcked them in and spat their brains back out.

I have tio say Fallout and Fallout 2 have some great death animations. Especially the 'energy weapons melt you into goop' one.

It always warmed my heart to see Lara Croft in Tomb Raider:Legends swan dive from a high area onto a hard surface with such grace  . Oh and one more death. In Half-Life 1 when you get top side and you're in the lobby area you have to find a sciantist to help open the front door, you find three of them in this sugical room with a rotating blades of death. Normally you shut it down and take the sciantist on your mary way. But you can leave then in the center of the room and turn the machine on and the next thing you know they've turn into beefy chunks. You'll lose if all three get killed but damn it's the funniest thing you can do to the poor lads lol.

Not a death animation but I remember my first deathclaw encounter walking up I-15, it was running right for me, I was a level 8 pure explosives/melee character. I had no option but to use my dynamite, I threw three sticks in VATS. The first two hit, and one even crit.
Much to my dismay this barely took anything out of the things health meter.

Then the third stick, the third stick, landed directly under the damn thing while it was jumping. The blast propelled it directly at me where it proceeded to open my like a can.

The deathclaw had great animations that fit the fact it flew pretty well.

Killing the Overseer in Fallout 1.

That man had it coming, I smiled when he inched his way to be against the vault door.

Horrigan had an awesome death animation as well.

That was the first time I've ever seen that one. Probably because I horded shotgun shells for that area.
