The Best Lines In Video Games

"Can I crush his neck now, master? Just a little? It's been a long time fantasy of mine..." - HK-47

Or pretty much anything else he's said.

I agree with this. Everything HK-47 says is greater than anything said by everyone else.

Please note that the underlined parts are not hyperbole.

 I remember that one. Lots of good lines in Warcraft 3.

And in Dawn of War 2: Retribution.
Especially the orks, with lines like:
"Killing stuff makes me feel like... killing some more"
"They shooting us? On purpose?"
"Ders this thing! And its doin stuff!!"

Might be funny only to people who play dow or know a bit about warhammer 40k, idk. :P

Oy boss, we iz gettin' shot up!

Dese 'ere boyz think they'z bettar dan uz, get 'em!

Enemies for stompin'! WAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

So true. SHODAN was an amazing antagonist in the System Shock games

"Remember, it is my will that guided you here. It is my will that gave you your cybernetic implants, the only beauty in that meat you call a body. If you value that meat... you will do as I tell you."

"Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence? When the history of my glory is written, your species shall only be a footnote to my magnificence."

System Shock II is one of the best games ever done plain and simple :D

The first cutscene of Guild Wars, though you have to play the game to actually understand its impact.

For best writing I will nominate Bioshock. I just used to hide and listen to the NPCs talking to themselves. The award goes to the Andrew Ryan line
Spoiler
"A man chooses, a slave obeys"

"We held the line" from Mass Effect tickles me. Also Destroy All Humans 2 had lots of funny lines, especially if you know your 60s pop culture.

"There is something wrong here...something which makes my sheath retract and my talons ooze. I sense the ugliness of a thousand evil thoughts...and I have located the source of these fetid emanations. They come from aboard your vessel! Foolish renegade human, why have you come here? All that you have found is your inevitable punishment." --The https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag50ct3EBxQ, Star Control 2 - The Ur-Quan Masters.

"We are the Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah. You have evaded our attempts to cleanse. You are no longer filth. You are a threat. Threats deserve greater attention than filth." --The https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjJOu-VyDY8(AKA The original Reapers), Star Control 2 - The Ur-Quan Masters.

"Juffo-Wup fills my fibers, and I grow turgid. Violent action ensues." --https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3OB7Kjfm0A - Star Control 2 - The Ur-Quan Masters

Seriously that game is like "Best Lines in Video Games - The Game"

Fight was so hard

I am also pissed Capcom cancelled Megaman Legends 3 and has made no announced plans to continue the ZX series after Advent. That combined with the leaving of Megaman's creator, it seems Megaman is dead.

They still haven't explained what happened to the original Megaman Cast between Megaman 10 and Megaman X beyond Zero didn't kill them, and they have yet to explain what happened in the 5000+ year gap between ZX Advent and Legends.

My favorite line from any video game is from the two-part masterpiece noir Max Payne.

The final line in The Fall of Max Payne.

I had a dream of my wife. She was dead. But it was all right.

It's not "cool" or "badass," but after the living hell the character is put through, both psychologically and physically, it is such a cathartic line.

Sega Rally Championship: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbZ9994u-tM&feature=related

For the truly best dialogue I have to fall back on Dragon Age: Origins:
Morrigan: Ah, so you have finally decided to rejoin us, have you? Falling on your blade in grief seemed like too much trouble, I take it?
Alistair: Is my being upset so hard to understand? Have you never lost someone important to you? Just what would you do if your mother died?
Morrigan: Before or after I stopped laughing?
Alistair: Right... very creepy. Forget I asked.

Sten [entering a dwarven tavern]: Is this... some sort of mass suicide?

Brother Genitivi [explaining traps set in an ancient ruin]: After all, no one wants to hear: "Willy toiled for many a year to perfect the curious mechanisms that would send a sharpened spike up the [censored] of the unwary intruder".

And of course http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxrO5-HPIAw in Mass Effect 2.

Richter Belmont: Die monster! You don't belong in this world!

Dracula: It was not by my hand that I am once again given flesh. I was called here by humans who wish to pay me tribute.

Richter Belmont: Tribute? You steal men's souls, and make them your slaves!

Dracula: Perhaps the same could be said of all religions.

Richter Belmont: Your words are as empty as your soul! Mankind ill-needs a savior such as you!

Dracula: What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk...have at you!

Classic!

In "The Bard's Tale", after the bard kills a horse in self-defense: FARMER: "I see you're as good with animals as you are with people."

In "Sacred 2", when you kill a bandit: BANDIT: "I knew it! I'm only an extra."

I think the speech Arcturus Mengsk gives after the defeat of the Confederacy in StarCraft is my favorite.

Spoiler
Fellow Terrans, I come to you in the wake of recent events to issue a call to reason. Let no human deny the perils of our time. While we battle one another, divided by the petty strife of our common history, the tide of greater conflict is turning against us, threatening to destroy all that we have accomplished. It is time for us as nations and as individuals to set aside our long-standing feuds and unite. The tides of an unwinnable war are upon us, and we must seek refuge on higher ground, lest we be swept away by the flood.
The Confederacy is no more! Whatever symbols of unity and protection it once provided is a phantom, a memory. With our enemies left unchecked, who will you turn to for protection? The devastation brought by the alien invaders is self-evident. We have seen our homes and villages destroyed by the calculated blows of the Protoss. We have seen first hand our friends and loved ones consumed by the nightmarish Zerg. Unprecedented and unimaginable though they may be, these are the signs of our time.
The time has come, my fellow Terrans, to rally to a new banner. In unity lies strength; already many of the dissident factions have joined us. Out of the many we shall forge an indivisible whole capitulating only to a single throne, and from that throne I shall watch over you. From this day forward let no human make war upon any other human, let no Terran agency conspire against this new beginning, and let no man consort with alien powers, and to all the enemies of humanity: seek not to bar our way, for we shall win through, no matter the cost!
