I would like to see it because it was my understanding that you must be dragonborn to absorb the souls of dragons to unlock the power of the shouts

that is true.. if you want to be able to learn it within a day. normal people require years of training to gain understanding of the words in order to use them. us dragonborns can just absorb the understanding of the words straight from dragons.

As far as I know, leader of the Stormcloaks is able to use Thu'um. One of imperial guards says something about that after prisoners leave their cart.

As an alternative, you could import a sniper rifle from Fallout 3 and headshot that svcker, he won't know what hit him

There are others who can use dragon shouts. The difference between you and them is they have to train to be able to use it(years worth of training). You can use them almost as soon as you learn them. All you need to do is absorb the knowledge from a dragon(or someone else who knows the shout).

Surely dragonborn is not just a cool way of saying "fast learner" there must be something else you have the soul of a dragon for a reason

Yeah, the reason is to save the Eff'ing world.learning dragon shouts quickly are just a sorta "icing on the cake".

Normally it takes decades to master a single world of a shout, the Greybeards say as much.

You, however, are Dragonborn. Absorbing Dragons souls allows you to call on their experience and use the shouts with impunity.

No. They're just misunderstood. I prefer training them.

Th'um can use shouts. The big difference is that it takes years to master the magic behind the shouts, while Dovakin have a natural talent for that.

Someone mentioned that if you attack the greybeards they'll whipe the floor with you in no time using all sort of shouts.

It never said they can it says

"A dragonborn (or Dovahkiin in the Dragon tongue) can use a type of magic known as "Dragon Shouts". Dragon shouts are spoken in the Dragon Language, and can manipulate dragons in a variety of unknown ways, as well as performing other kinds of magic, also undocumented."

Greybeards are masters of the voice but you must be dragonborn to use a shout

Thats incorrect. Greybeards can shout it takes years of training tho. It happens in game.
