The Best Way To Kill a Dragon. ICE-FORM!

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 4:27 am

Most of us have probably seen the Ice Form Shout where you can freeze an enemy and they essentially fall over or freeze in place.

It occurred to me just a minute ago that if you shoot this at a flying dragon it would probably just keep flying and crash into something, or just straight drop to the ground.

opinions on this strategy/idea?

Ah Crap...didn't catch that detail. I hope it does. I imagine it would though because as far as the story concept is concerned, it seems that dragon shouts are implemented in the story to be able to fight dragons. At least as far as lore is concerned.

It may cause frost damage but as far as freezing them solid... I think it would make it a little to easy to just "hey there is a dragon.... Now its a frozen dragon ...aannnnndddd (while dragon is frozen and falling then...) now it's a bunch of frozen dragon pices!"

i'm not positive they always shatter....it may just break the ice off of them...but i'm thinking it would at least knock them to the ground effectively

I'm 100% positive they cannot.

Hence the significance of you being a dragonborn and a singular figure from a prophecy. It isn't just some trade that a select few pick up. It's a legendary hero mannn

Not unless you procreate and by chance your kid also has it... Then don't piss him off (although we don't really know if the dragon soul thing is hereditary or not but dragon blood is)

i think that could work just fine if you could make the shout reach them when their flying around, i doubt it would kill a dragon tough and once out of the casing it wouldnt be hurt enough that it couldnt fly, so it would just take of again

Even if such shout was done by some powerful Dragon Priest or even by by Alduin himself?

Don't think you really need to use fancy abilities on dragons when they die in minutes to the run and mash the attack button strategy

You'll want to think about that again... also maybe read the lore article on UESP about the Voice.

Th'um is different. It has a steam engine. Dragon shouts have a diesel engine.

It never said they can it says

"A dragonborn (or Dovahkiin in the Dragon tongue) can use a type of magic known as "Dragon Shouts". Dragon shouts are spoken in the Dragon Language, and can manipulate dragons in a variety of unknown ways, as well as performing other kinds of magic, also undocumented."

Greybeards are masters of the voice but you must be dragonborn to use a shout

they can, ive seen them use them in the leaked footage, and to my understanding there are two different sources to their power, the humans got their abillity to shout from Kynareth and the dragons got them from Akatosh

I just re read the wiki and it says they can and several of the masters are commonly gagged and during a war they were used for martial purposes .... The shouts were the seige weapons.

I know that other nords can learn to use the Thu'um, which is the origin of the dragon shout in Nordic Culture. But i'm just saying i highly doubt you'll run into NPC's that can do this in skyrim. It's quite rare in the ES lore and the focus of the game is that you are a rare and epic hero of rare and epic birth; born to fulfill a prophecy of one who can use the dragon shouts
