...Okay, more seriously and back on topic. Now that I've actually had a chance to settle down and read this, I absolutely love it. It just feels so... Nordic. The flow and style of an old Edda, plus the clear cyclic sense of things coming through. Well worth the read. ^.^

Did the Nords "wake" into dragons?

Of course not, we're waking up through time, but it's all in a jumble. I spy:

The Pact of Chieftains
The War of Succession
The Wild Hunt's slaying of Borgas
Wulfharth forsaking Skyrim
The Battle of Sungard
The Mainland's Cultural Outlook regarding the Skaal

Among other things, but then the story changes every year. One has to look hard to see everything, which is always a hard thing to do. For example, last year's had little to nothing to do with dragons at all, if I recall correctly, but a year's a long time in the 'rim.

I certainly remember that I wasn't listed, but that's a whole other story.

By the way, when I said "of course not" that's Elk-speak for "that's one way of looking at it, but then I have to turn my head and use the other eye, too."

tl;dr.

That said, I skimmed through it, and I really love the feel of it. It's very long-winded, which really gives it that "norse epic" kind of feel.

Also, I like the inclusion of the Karstaags. Hopefully we'll get to see some in Skyrim.

Also also, has anyone counted to see if there really are 500 companions? ;D

I'm now imagining typical suburbia, white picket fence, gee-golly families and their little tykes, keeping up with the Joneses and all that jazz. I'm now imagining a family of Karstaags coming into this suburban paradise. "Hi, we're the Karstaags from next door. We're giant, hairy creatures from the old world. I hope you don't mind, but we enslaved a bunch of Rieklings to pillage goods and supplies for us. Have you met our youngest, Karstaag Junior? He's quite the handful. Got the strength of ten men already. Say hi, Junior!"

I guess we'll see that soon enough, Lady, won't we? Only a few months, really.

I want so badly to dive right into this right this second, but I'm not in the right mind-set for an accounting of Companions. Later, I will.
