Which is pretty bad IMO.
Should be able to stack up 3-5 charges at least.
He's already confirmed that it isn't an instakill beam. (J.E)

Which is good. IIRC it's more of a bombardment thing, not an Ion Cannon style weapon

Edit: Addendum

Yeah it's good that it isn't an instant win but seeing as it's not that powerful I don't see why it couldn't stack it's charges up to a certain limit.
So that say I have 3 charges stacked up, then I can still only use them 5 minutes apart, so that I can't spam those three instantly.

That way, it's not too powerful and more useful. (imo)

I thought I heard in an interview that hardcoe mode didn't have fast travel...
If it does than I see no point in not playing it, but I'm probably guessing it's 100X easier than it really is.

Yup, and they've removed most if not all +skill perks.

From the wiki:

This perk increased damage dealt with dynamite, low level weapons, hatchets, knives, and revolvers.

Except the energy unleashed in such a bombardment is vast, so I doubt even in the 50s future, that any ship they had could carry an orbital cannon with enough capacitors to hold more then a single charge.

And before you say they could have added more, again remember this is the 50s future, and the first manned space trip wasnt till 61, the first spacewalk was in 65, And the first time someone had to spacewalk to assemble something wasn't till the early 80s. That being said, they would have had to pack the ready to use orbital cannon into a rocket, again, limiting the capacitors for holding a charge.

Ok.
Don't know that much about space-technology or it's history.

Remember that the actual date for the great war is 2077.... Do we know when the ARCHI was built? It could be well within the range of doable options by 2077 in a world where laser weapons and nuclear cars are so common.
But we oughta respect Spectre's hard work on this thread and not get too off-topic here.

Seems like an awesome early level perk. Looking forward to seeing the full FONV perk list on the 10/19.

Thanks to SpEcTrE for putting the time to compile this info this thread and keeping the thread alive. I always wonder if I missed a video or an interview or something else major regarding FONV, so it's cool to have one place to look. I wish I had a Fishy Stick to give you, but alas, I do not, but here's a cookie instead... :cookie:

Hehe. You don't carry the actual cannon. The cannon's in orbit though your point is still valid. The weapon you're carrying paints a location for the cannon to fire at.

There is only so much one can add to this thread as we don't have video releases very often. Plus we are still discussing the videos, specifically any that show the orbital laser.

And just because the war is set in the future, it is still set in a 50 themed world. Anything that happened after the 50ds would not have happened in the Fallout universe.

Except that there were 120 years AFTER the 50s where things DID happen. Most of the tech like power armor and lasers were built (and confirmed by lore in many places) well AFTER the 50s....

I'm pretty sure Josh said that the interview that talked about the Cowboy Perk had a typo and it actual increases damage with lever-action rifles not low-level weapons. (It wouldn't really make sense to have it increase damage for low-level weapons, however lever-action rifles makes perfect sense befitting the Cowboy shtick.) :tops:

This is all 50s sci-fi tech though. It is only things that people in the 50s would have thought of, and going to space was not one of them. It was always aliens visiting earth. Any events of the 60s, 70s, 80, 90s, and 2000s did not happen in the fallout universe, this includes most of space travel.

To prove my point. JFK was shot in 63. In the Fallout universe, as far as i can tell, this did not happen.
