Wow... talk about a vast generalization. It doesn't really matter how a story is conveyed, just the skill of the person writing it.

OoT is my favourite game aswell. If I played it today I wouldn't be certain, but since it was a huge part of my childhood when it came to video games, I guess the game sat it's print on me and it still has.

I don't get it. I don't particularly like OoT, but I see nothing wrong with his choice... it's not like he said Big Rigs was his favorite game ever or something silly like that.

That has got to be the ultimate factor for anyone who thinks so, because I was one of the few who didn't get into to OoT like all of my friends did because I was too busy playing my favorite games which I view now just as I did then as far superior and more engrossing. Every late teens and early twenties attempt I've made at giving OoT a chance has completely ended in a reaffirming disappointment in it.

Starcraft 1 and BW fit those catagories for me. Blizzard's jewel series. Diablo comes close.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It's led to hours and hours and hours and hours of good times with its sequels and Black Ops.

Second vote for the original StarCraft. I loved the Dark Crusade edition of Relic's Dawn of War, but StarCraft will always be the best in my mind. The nostalgia helps, but it had a memorable story with some great characters (I remember being pretty bummed having to kill Edmund Duke as the Zerg), and great memories playing mulitplayer.

Resident evil 1, by far the best horror game I have game across. As a 10 yr old I could kill the 1st zombie out of fear and lack of weapons and mobility. Even now as a big boy I still can't finish it, but I can at least get to the 10th zombie before fear kicks in

resident evil 1? good game, but not quite. the oddly small amount of people who have played deus ex and system shock 2 from start to finish, maybe vampire the masquerade: bloodlines too, know that these games are the finest the industry has produced. anything by rockstar, bethesda, konami, capcom, square and a few others should not be underrated though.

and papafern finish the game you big girl! i had resi evil 1 beat when i was ten years old! lol system shock 2 would make you soil your pants!

For me that is easily Suikoden II.

I've actually brought myself to play it again but like I said I can't lol, it's too restricting with the movement, sprinting, aiming, knifing and general interactions, on top of the fact the place is empty and with whatever difficulty I'm on the zombies I do find are invincible nearly. It's the lack of action and the creepy mansion scenario (feels almost claustraphobic) that just builds suspense and that suspense leads me to thinking there are zombie every where round the next corner or through the next door
Oh and the inability to freely rotate the camera also adds to the pressure/fear/suspense.
Good game. Will conquer one day like I have the rest of the ones I've got. - Res5 was the only one I never felt any fear.

Deus Ex 1.

The original Final Fantasy. It allowed me to finally put away my dice, pencil and paper.

Followed closely by Final Fantasy 2 and Uncharted Waters 2; New Horizons.

For the PC? Age of Empires........

Halo: Combat Evolved because my memories with that game are the greatest, and it introduced me to the halo universe which I love.
