What gets on your nerves?

For me it's when I'm reading a story and a character thats supposed to be southern, so they spelll their dialog with things like Ah instead of I and muh instead my among others.

I already talk like that normally, just say the character has a southern accent, and it makes it hard to read.

I hate it when people use an apostrophe to make a plural. Even business do it..."Get your photo's developed here!" grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

There, I said it. And it feels good.

Noise, this is the number 1 thing that annoys me. I'm not gonna start on any details here or I'd end up writing a small essay.

But another thing I can discuss in less detail is when people talk a lot about matters that are of no interest or relevance to me. Really discussions are fine but I find myself to be perfectly capable of only just saying a few words to cover what needs to be covered about any one topic, and it's not so hard to keep discussions only relevant to the interests of the particular person you are talking with. There are some people that will just talk to talk, often someone will start talking to me about some interest or hobby they have and I will make it clear that discussing it with me is pointless as I don't know the subject or it is not of interest to me but then those same people will keep talking about that particular topic just to talk. Why must people do that ? Like one person I know is a huge fan of cars while I can't even name most of the parts of a car, yet he always has to talk about cars with me, even if I've told him I have no interest in cars and that I don't know what he is talking about. The next time I meet that person, he will also at least attempt to discuss cars with me again, he always does.

Small talk can be okay but it just becomes pointless in those kind of situations.

Crying children... I hate it. It's loud and bothersome. And playing music loudly, I'm not interested in listening to the crap that some moron two houses away is listening to.

On the subject of food. People who make a huge deal out of something that tastes nice annoy the hell out of me. For instance, I'll take a bite of a steak and say "This is a nice." But I know some people that make the whole orgism face and spend the whole meal bleating on about how good the steak is, doing all the hand movements and lip licking.

Puts me off my food!

Other drivers. When I'm not being annoyed by my own driving not being up to scratch, that is.

Professional liars, e.g. journalists, politicians, PR people, the usual suspects.

Nearly everything else.

Disorder. If something is, in my mind, improperly placed, I must correct it. Disorganised shelf at a super market? I stop and organise it, then go on to carry on shopping. See something on a floor? I have to pick it up right off the bat lest I go insane from the 'improperness' of the error.

I also hate trying to keep up with social media. I know I'm only 21, but it's hard to keep up with something you just don't care about. The only reason I usually jump on the latest bandwagon media site is to keep up with friends.

The fact that egg custard tarts only come in packs of two. Now, these things are six personified in the form of food, so why oh why do people think its acceptable to have them in packets of two? This is an actual crime against humanity. You need three at the least. Perhaps a lifetime supply... Either way, two is nowhere near enough!

I keep telling a buddy of mine to stop that, yet he doesn't seem to realize why his games are all scratched.

My younger brother is terrible at it too. His Xbox and games are in a terrible state.

I think they're quite infamous for it: they're not called "greengrocers' apostrophes" for nothing. Sorry, "apostrophe's".

I'll just go with children in general. Probably because there are so many annoying children in my neighborhood.

Also a really minor thing that annoys me, when I make a small mistake in one of my posts and edit it 10 seconds later but still have that ugly EDITED tag at the bottom.

Smokers that throw their cigarette butts on the ground, particularly if they are still lit. Like throwing lit cigarette on the road from a car.

And Smokers that smoke right near an entrance to a building you need to go in to, forcing you to walk through the smoke.

Also people that lick their fingers to turn some page in a document or book, particularly if they then hand the page to you. Or if your at a checkout station in a store and the cashier licks his/her finger to get a bag.

Other things too. Pretty much the root of all of the annoyances are people that are rude or discourteous. I don't mind little things like grammatically errors much.

Cars behind me when I'm driving at night. Especially when they're completely inconsiderate asses and have their brights on and hug my bumper as close as they can.

It just sets me simmering with anger for the entire duration that the awful light assaults my eyes. I literally cannot calm down until the light is gone.

The constantly yapping Chihuahuas next door. The old man has four of them. This is the "doggiest" place I've ever lived in. Small 60x100 lots and everyone it seems has at least two dogs. It sounds like living in the midst of the SPCA kennel at times with all the barking. Also the neighbor a few doors down who regularly barbeques on this massive contraption that's so big he has to tow it around with his truck (must be ten feet long). When he loads it up with wood and sets it on fire with lighter fluid the smoke chokes the entire neighborhood for hours. Pretty irritating to have the windows open on a nice day and suddenly the house is filled with smoke.

God I wish I had bought a house a few miles out of town on an acre or two.
