Whatever it is, it will bring in more money for Bethesda, and the money can be used on the main Elder Scrolls games.
So, bringing in money from is game is worth potentially ruining a series with a terrible game? I don't like that rationale much, if anything, the money would go straight to lining the pockets of Zenimax.
You naysayers are going to change your minds as soon as you see what can be done with this. After Skyrim BGS gets a license to do whatever they want.
Because they're two different companies, Zenimax Online and Bethesda. I'm not saying it will svck, just with the recent run of bad games through companies trying to expand the franchise, I'm rather worried.
The recent trends in MMOs lead me to be very skeptical of an Elder Scrolls MMO. The incessant "dumbing down" of content and the rampant "hand-holding" that has made the genre so mainstream yet unrewarding will be a challenge for Elder Scrolls Online to overcome.
This news comes with mixed feelings for me. This could be great for the series, or it could be another nail (the final nail?) in the MMO genre's coffin. The same is true of its impact on the Elder Scrolls franchise as a whole; this could be great or it could be awful. That uncertainty is what makes me very anxious.
My thoughts to a T. I'm worried that it could be a huge disappointing piece of [censored] or that it will only be played for a month before the player-base disappears, I hope they've got good ideas in store, if not...
