The Walking Pony Discussion

I've never read the comic but I was like holy hell who is that? I never really hated any of the characters on this show until tonight....you guys know who. I cant wait until season 3.
If you don't mean Lori, IDK who.

Oh and I wanted to mention why Hershel or anyone else at the farm never really set up any real defenses. Spent more time eating dinners and trapping zombie neighbors. I mean how long would it have taken a dozen able bodies to dig a moat/ditch around the farm house and a tall sturdy fence/wall on the inside of the moat? I'm thinking a few weeks at the most and they were all there a lot longer than that.
Because they were remote, at most they'd get a stray walker or two. The only reason they got such a large hoarde is the walkers followed the helicopter, then when they lost sight of it, they just aimlessly wandered in one direction.

I just read about the prison and the Governor... It seems with the characters we're left with it won't be nearly as exciting as in the comics.

Ah I loved that episode.

Spoiler
We got to see the Prison, T-Dog got more lines than he's had all season, Hershal showed his badass side, we saw Michonne, Daryl saved Carol (i'm sure we all know where this one is going  plus there was more Daryl) and all the other stuff

Really looking forward to season 3 now :gun: :mohawk:

(kind of) offtopic, but does anyone have any idea what type of Motorcycle Daryl has? I just think its pretty awesome and was curious. I read somewhere online that it might be a Triumph Bonneville 650 but still curious as to if anyone else knows or has any clue.

Awesome end to season 2. The helicopter at the start.. Government still out there somewhere? Lori getting mad at Rick for killing shane? She pretty much told him to do so! What's with that guy/gal with the sword and zombies on a chain? The ending showing what looked like a prison in the background? Come on season three!

Best of all they are off the Farm!

Dunno, but I think the Helicopter is the reason the army of Walkers herded there, not by intent, they lost sight of the chopper, then just walked like cattle in one direction. (That's my theory anyway)

I couldn't agree more.

Yep. I'm curious to see how this plays out, as I havent read the comics.

Best of all they are off the Farm!
Indeed, Amen for that.

Found the ending to be meh. Lori's terrible acting annoyed the hell out of me. I'll stick with the series though but I didn't have that feeling of wanting more with that ending.

Spoiler
Besides wanting to know who that person with the two zombies is.

I really like that Dayrl stuck up for Rick. I wish T-dog would have done the same as well.

If you're curious, check the link I put up, whether it's all 100% accurate, given the shows diversion from the comics, is yet to be seen.

I think it was implied the Helicopter was what got the herd in the woods. There was also another episode where I think it was Lori, but someone said they saw a helicopter and the others said she was just imaging it.

It is her, it was confirmed on the Talking Dead.

It seems the zombies
Spoiler
are attracted to loud noises (helicopter/gunshot) so one would think they would just have bunkered down, had one guy in a car fire off a couple shots and control the direction of the herd
but that's just me.

Also was anyone frustrated with how Carol was acting? Saying Daryl deserves so much more.

It's a damn zombie apocalypse. There aren't any medals given out.

There was no reason for them to drive around like nuts either. They could have just stayed put and picked them off, but there was alot of them.

They clearly never read the Zombie Survival Guide

I don't like how he seems to be talking back to Rick all the time. He seems more of a Shane fan and not his own dad.

Oh no, I know THAT, I just mean that I dunno if her comic lore will be the same, seeing as the show takes artistic liberties.

Great finale! And some very interesting new information about the nature of the infection, glad to see a bit of development on that.

Best of all they are off the Farm!

YES! So, so, SO glad that they're off the farm! I don't know if it was this slow in the comic books, but most of this season was terrible. The first half completely stagnated after everyone got onto the farm. The second half was better, especially when Rick & Glenn went to get Hershel from the bar, but it still badly needed to move on and bring some new characters in.

I'm crossing my fingers, though, and am really looking forward to next season! New setting, new characters, and things are actually moving on! I just hope we don't see the same thing happen next season with the prison, where they somehow find themselves in an anti-zombie zone for most of the season.

I wouldn't say that. It's pretty much been indicated way back when the one guy got bitten and hung himself. The necksnap would kill a person before the bite, and he came back. I'll consider 'new' developments when the author of the series tells us what the origins of the infection are. (Not that I'm expecting it to happen.)

Nope, Author tries to focus on the here and now. Making the origins and reasons irrelevant. He's apparently played around with the idea before though.

Well that's kinda disappointing. Not sure how fans of the comics would like it, but I'd hope the show takes some liberties there.

The TV series and Comics are very different as I am sure we all know. The only reason I haven't got into the comics is because I have to watch my spending and I would most likey get hooked and buy all the comics to date.

Carol, not Carl
Carol is Sophia's mum
Carl is Rick's son

Saw the Episode with
Spoiler
Shane's death
and all I could think was how sloppy his attempt for Rick was, from locking the hut door after Randell "escaped" to coming up with the excuse Randell overpowered him
He was beginning to sound more and more crazy as that episode went on.....Now to look for a new favourite amoung the group

That was a brilliant final episode, purely because -

Spoiler
Michonne! :D

Definitely agree that Rick is in the right. Maybe once they're holed up and safe they can talk about some semblance of group/democratic leadership, but right now someone has to lead, otherwise they'll just stand around bickering and not getting anything done. Carol needs to stop [censored] stirring - for one thing Daryl doesn't seem to even want to be a leader. He seems happy enough to knuckle down with the rest of the group but still have the freedom to do his own thing. If Carol feels like a burden she's only got herself to blame for not pulling her weight (like never seeming to go out looking for Sophia). I don't remember anyone else implying she's a burden anyway.
Andrea got a lot more badass in my book, and with her, Maggie and the newcomer (:D) hopefully the female characters won't just be a load of dishwashing moaning Minnies in the next season.

Re: T-Dog... he spoke his best line ever is in the episode called "Secrets":

Spoiler

In that episode, Jimmy was learning how to shoot a gun. He turns the gun sideways. T-Dog says, "don't gimme any of that gangsta $#!+". XD

Speaking of...someone.

Spoiler
Am I the only one who doesn't feel that bad for Jimmy? I felt bad for how he died, but he brought it on himself. Seriously, there's an army of zombies on the farm, and you're going to drive around with the windows DOWN? That's just tempting fate at that point.
