Just started a rerun... guess, I'll postpone it until the PC version is patched to have all the new stuff.

I hope you don't mean postpone buying it...it's a free upgrade for current owners of the game (or anyone who buys before the 17th of April), just like the Enhanced Edition of the first game was.

The good news is that anyone who owns The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings before the 17th will receive the upgrade to the Enhanced Edition for free!

I was already planning to buy the game before the 1st of March anyway (got a 40% off coupon from the Steam holiday sale), but this just offers extra incentive. :P

I still haven't gotten around to playing this, but that's how you go about treating your fans. Suppose I'll wait until Enhanced Edition is out before I pick it up now.

Oh, no. I know the new content is free for PC. Postpone the 2nd playthrough until the EE patch comes is what I meant.

Excellent, great to hear that CD Projekt is still providing such excellent service. Looking forward to the new content! Now that is how you should treat your customers.

Wait, will Steam users get this update? I bought TW2 during the Winter sale, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Sweeeet :D I never got around to actually buying this, so now I'll get the Enhanced Edition, that way I'll have both games in their best version

BTW how awesome of a team is CD Projekt, letting all owners of the regular version get the Enhanced one for free?! :goodjob:

Yeah, they're pretty much awesome developers. They even gave the original Witcher's Enhanced Edition for free before. AND they give away all their DLC for free. How amazing is that in this day and age?

Awesome, I'll probably be buying it soon. Still haven't finished The Witcher 1, which I picked up for 5 euros a long time ago. I keep getting distracted by other games and stuff, but it's a good game.

I have yet to get the first one. I should since I am into that genre these days.

The first one should not be too expensive, right?

Same here, great developer. I played the Witcher 1 which also turned me on to Andrej Sapkowski who wrote the books. Read both the novels and loved them, although they are translated to English they were still great. Sadly I still haven't made it all the way through the Witcher 2, all in due time though.

Played one, loved it, loved the way i could interact with the city, 2 is a bit different so far havent finished , trying to balance a few quests because i dont to miss some of the events that happen in some of the quests, so trying to get them in sequence but im stuck for cash, and need to make bombs to finish a quest, and damn the start is a bit of a suprise for a game, but i liked it, sick of games for kiddies, loved it so much i bought the big collectors box set, the most content in any collectors edition thats been released.

That was amazing! Is this brand new? I bought a new graphics card and i'm running through some games that I could never max out. The Witcher 2 is on my list. I guess i'll wait till they release this new edition before I play it again!

I do love CD Projekt Red... I started Witcher 2, after I finally upgraded my PC - found it challenging but was loving it, but then Skyrim came out, so I got completely distracted. I will go back to it, but now I will wait until the EE is available as well.

I may actually finish a playthrough of the original Witcher first. I had lost my save games and could not import into 2.

Just so people aren't dissapointed, that wasn't in game graphics. Prerendered CGI, though don't get me wrong. Witcher 2 still has osme of the best graphics I've seen. Just not crazy CGI levle of graphics.

Speaking about graphics... I still don't quite know what the "über sampling" in the graphics options does. As far as I can tell the game is all DX9 (unless I'm wrong), so what does it do?

Makes it look amazing, but chugs the system because it's a resource hog. What it's actually doing? I can't say. A quick google reveals this.

Ubersampling - answer from another forum - "When ubersampling is enabled The Witcher 2 will render every frame several times and than re-interperate them into one frame. The most noticable difference is that textures will be a bit smoother and have a bit less noise."

I wonder why they didn't go for DX11 support, since they do appear to be somewhat graphicwhorish. Not that I'd care, though. TWitcher 2 is one of the best looking games I've ever played which suggests (to me) that there isn't a real need for DX11.
