Is there any kind of scientific reasoning as to why cats beh

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:52 am

Can't animals also be dull and foolish? You could make an argument that "stupid" should be reserved for the animals that are dull by the species's typical standards, but you can hardly argue that all cats are equally intelligent.

That then begs the question of whether this cat in particular really is "stupid" by cat standards. I believe we need a larger test sample!

And I just happen to have two cats of my own.

Yes typical standards are the height of it! Many, many words such as Stupid, Dull and Foolish are not traditionally used to describe animals. You must be aware that I am talking specifically about the literal meanings of the word and not how people use it.

But words are given power by the people who use them. Surely a poet more than anyone would understand that.

That is very true. Words are also prone to change and their meanings change over time. I study language intensely and I tend to get very specific about the exact meanings of words in a dictionary sense, I know I shouldn't but it comes with the territory. Many words are misunderstood and misused.

There are also stupid people. The sort that when bored resort to abusing or at least bullying an animal for their own entertainment

What the hell?

Why would you think this is worth a discussion?

In any case, it's because cats are generally a lot less tolerant than most animals of invasion of personal space.

I make too many Schrodinger's Cat jokes. I need to start thinking outside the box.
Best way to take your mind off Schrodinger's Cat experiment is to play some Dead or Alive.

EpicFail, I appreciate your curiosity and that you share it with us; however, just think about what you post before you post it. It's also nice to see your grammar is improving! :D

I think I would like to hog tie the persons who filmed this, and the idiot who came up with the idea. Then, I would like to superglue cardboard to their bodies in exactly the same place, set them free, and watch them run around, agitated, trying to remove it. At least, the playing field would be level. I have never done, nor would ever do, anything like this to my pets. They are lesser beings for which I am responsible.
The dip[censored]s that did this, though, they have issues.

I don't like stuff like that done to cats either.

But it's always been my belief that if you block their whiskers, they are blinded. aka Im assuming the whiskers are UNDER that tape.

i wouldnt act as if being crushed by something much heavier ?

Cause cat acts like it is crushed by something heavy? Tbh it really only looks like cat is going backwards trying to "move" from under-whatever the cat thinks it's under. I agree with 2nd comment, it's just probably annoying. People do really stupid things with animals, is human IQ going backwards or something? :ermm:

I repeat my past notion that we should rename it Schr?dinger's Rapist, to focus the point in the experiment not the ethical nonsense.

I'm not sure that a human in place of a cat, regardless of their actions, would void the ethics of the question in most peoples eyes.
