Thing's I would personally like to see in next DLC

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 6:10 pm

Obviously my opinion but these are some things i'v been wanting that would be pretty cool if possible.

1- Bear traps the player can carry around and then setup. It would be fun for hunting. (and just laying traps in general)
Currently I don't think players can carry bear traps only pick them up and move them around. It would be nice to carry them in your inventory.

2- Working fishing poles. I'v seen poles and i'v been disappointing from the start that we can't use them. This would be great!
Yes, I know there are fish hatcheries but you can only get small fries. This would be a good opportunity for the dev's to throw in some new aquatic wildlife as well.

3- Camping tents the player can setup. I know, you can just "wait" or go to a home but us role-players that like to spend time in the wilderness won't have any of that. Right now as it is, you have to find a camp site already setup which most likely already has inhabitants.

4- Lantern's the player can carry in one hand. (that actually require candles you can purchase) I'm not a mage, I don't use mage light. I'm a hunter.

5- Clothing dye. A new crafting table (much like alchemy/enchanting etc) can be introduced where players can use various plants collected to mix into dye's that can be used to change the color of clothing/armor.

6- Ability to build or at least own an Inn as a source of income.

7- Mountable Mammoths, If you can temporarily tame a dragon and ride it I see no reason not to be able to stampede through some enemies on one of these guys.

That's all I could think of. I know it's not likely to happen but it's what i'd like to see. A small Adventurer update would be pretty fun. :3

id like to see a female variant of giant, kinda like how dg added a female falmer model
i feel bad for those big dudes, only having hairy elephants to keep them company
and id like to see giants expanded upon in general
nothing as monumental as the falmer origins in dg, but just some more stuff involving them like some side quests, maybe some dialogue with a tribe you manage to befriend, stuff like that

I'm iffy on number 7....Apparently some where its been said that men have been able to tame dragons with their voices before but I've never heard of there being tameable mammoths...

Traps would be interesting for a nonmage as it would serve as a 'rune', only difficulty would be the fact that your followers can step on them and that realistically it'd take longer than just throwing it on the ground...

The fishing would be nice for rp purposes.

That'd be great for rp purposes. If your character was a huntsman or a nomad it'd work well.

We have the torches in places of lanterns so I don't know about that one.

The coloring would be interesting to experiment with, I'd probably end up making a set of robes look like Ebony or Ivory from Assassin's Creed II.

Owning a shop would be nice but it'd end up with you just being the owner and leaving someone else as the operator.

They were supposed to be traders as well but it was cut. They were also going to help in the Civil war but that was cut to.
Lol I'd love to see a fat giant like from GameJam. Too funny until it sent you into space.

What I really want more than anything for the next Elder Scrolls game is for it to have some sort of simple online functionality. I don't mean like two players in the same world or anything, I mean where if you are connected to the internet you can write down notes and stuff in game and leave the note book or scroll or whatever somewhere in the game and if your friend is online and goes into say, a cave you went into he can actually find your notes/books etc.

Or leave a weapon or something in a nearby chest that your friend can come across.

This would be pretty cool finding notes and tales of danger written by your friends. I recently purchased ZombieU on the Wii U and it let's you spray paint graffiti on things and if your friend is playing Single player he/she can actually find your writings. It's not much but it's pretty cool.

A decent reward at the end, damnit. Skyrim's got a bad habit of giving you the good stuff mid-story, and leaving you holding a bag full of rocks at the end.

Also, the ability to have house storage set up similar to character inventory would be nice - with the sort options for Weapons, Armor, and so on. Not sure if it's workable, but it'd be helpful.

I hope they keep up with the town atmosphere, though. Loving the feel of Raven Rock and the Skaal village, because it seems like they have more interaction with each other than in the base game.

Also, keep adding more companions with actual dialogue - I brought someone along during the Dragonborn MQ (when I didn't have to) and not only did they have something to say, but they interacted with the other quest NPC I was with. Nice!

Homesteads... they'd be a great source for radiant quests, plus, they'd finally give me something to do with my 100000+ septims.

i'd also love to interact with a clan of giants... there are talking rieklings, it'd only make sense that there are talking giants somewhere (especially since they're not stupid)

In the cut content you could've traded with them, hence whey there was a note on a post near the hotsprings area that said "do not trade with this Giant".

I kind of want money sinks...I have enough gems and coin to gild Proudspire manor and add incrust the outer walls with diamonds to make it dragon proof....

I'd love for money to be a real issue.

I have almost a million gold, and so many precious gems I stopped counting.

I don't even bother getting loot anymore, unless it's unique or something like that.

Paying taxes for your homes would be nice. Be able in influence a hold's economy would be, rp wise, very nice. Create a business and have to pay income tax, pay wages etc. it'd make a decent money sink if you wanted it to.

Money is nearly useless since it is in such abundance and you can craft anything you need.

It'd never happen, but I've always wanted to be able to repair and inhabit one of the many inactive forts in TES games. Hire and train new guards, merchants, patrol the area, and so on.

Start a clan and be able to infect the people with either Vampirism or Lycanthropy.

I call Helgan. I'd invite Froki and the boy back. Make a homestead like the new Assassin's Creed.

Start a clan and be able to infect the people with either Vampirism or Lycanthropy.
That would be interesting but Dawnguard, to an extent, has the vampirism bit covered.

Be able to buy a plot of land and build a homestead. Basically start a small community.

Owning a stronghold would be an excellent addition and there's no reason why Skyrim shouldn't have it. Hearthfire is cool but it's too homey for many characters. Oblivion got the Battlehorn Castle.. Morrowind has the Great House strongholds.. would be sick to have a civil war themed kind of outpost thing. Stormcloaks get an ancient nordic like stronghold, Imperial characters get a Solitude-esque stronghold.

I like all those ideas but number 3 is something I have thought for some time that we should be able to do. Skyrim can get quite dark at night and I would love to be able to stop set up a tent and camp fire cook some food then sleep in the tent until its light again.

Things Id like to see added for us console Xbox 360 users please:

1) ability to craft jewel tipped arrows ( just the visiable arrow tips)

* * the type of Jewel used could give just a tiny small damage bonus or effect to the arrow used. The quiver designs are awesome just as they are but would like the ability to craft Gems into the tips of the arrows * *

2) Would like to meet more dragon born NPC's from the past

3) Would like to know more history of Dragonborn people of the past

4) Would like to meet and interact / quest with a Dragon Priest from the past ( not refering to Mirrak as imo Mirrak was only interested in ruleing the world )

5) Would like to meet and interact with a Female Dragon ~ big big quest something epic a quest that is massively awesome with a really really really awesome story to go with her.

6) Would like to have a rack or structure to display the 3 Elder Scrolls collected from the game in any player home ( No I dont want to give those scrolls to the orc for only 250 gold )

7) Would like quests that dig deeper into the dragon born history to learn more from Parthunax ( If Parthunax isnt alive in some games then Odaviing ) but in my game Parthunax will forever live.

8) Would like to discover a massive field or cavern filled with Dragon eggs and an awesome quest that involves that cave cavern or place.

9) Would like to have a mini dragon pet for my house at Winstead Manor

10) Raise that mini dragon , feed that mini dragon and in a years time ( in game time ) set that dragon free to roam the skys in Skyrim!

11) A quest similar to the aetherium quest where we can ~ Create our Own Dragon Priest Mask. Just only one mask ~ but a unique mask that we can choose from a wide variety of styles shapes textures materials to design it. And to imbue it with ....One power or unique Gift.

Dragons aren't born. They just exist. There aren't any female dragons because they don't reproduce so having a baby Dragon or a cave of eggs is lore breaking.
Dragon Priest masks were given to their loyal allies as a gift that is why they are special.
Dragon Priests were known for their cruelty so finding one to chat with would be very difficult since they probably would try to kill you.
Why jewel tipped arrows?
There is a dragonborn in Sovengarde but that is as close as you can get, I don't know what they would tell you if you did meet one.

well, maybe not all the Dragon priests were cruel and opresive, maybe just the highpriests and the others were obligated to obey some due to fear others for loyalty to their Religion like the rest of the population, there is even a theory that Ysgramor was a Dragonpriest and he is found in Sovngarde, so if this is true it would back that other theory of not all dragonpriests being cruel and opresive
