Things disappearing in the world

Yeah, confirmed: double clicking whatever's disappearing and marking it with Full LOD will fix the issue. Just don't do it to too much stuff or it might get you some lag.


Anyone know what is happening?

Basically stuff has become invisible. First pic you can see there should be some rock and the house.

The items are still there though, as you can see when I right-clicked them. Their silhouettes still appear through the clouds, too.
Ingame they are invisible and don't have collision (they're not there).

Select the item and press 1 on your keyboard. You may have to press 1 twice for it to reappear. :smile:

Also, I recommend you use a more trusted image host (such as imgur.com), people don't always trust sites they haven't seen before.

Imgur would turn the image down to JPG70 for it being too big and it'd make a mess of all the information there. Trust me, I tried. :P

And thanks a bunch, it worked! Mind letting me know what 1 does and why things disappeared? Learning is good :biggrin:

Edit: If I go to another cell (like right clicking on my Teleport door marker to go inside) and come back it disappears again. Still doesn't show up ingame. :/

Imgur would turn the image down to JPG70 for it being too big and it'd make a mess of all the information there. Trust me, I tried. :tongue:
Imgur saves the image at 80% quality which is more than you need for screenshots such as this. (There is no such thing as "JPG70")

JPG70 means JPG saved at 70%. Which is what Imgur looked like imo. I'm used to the site, I just avoid it for bigger PNG images.

Image file formats aside, your actual CK problem might be the number of loaded cells, when a object is so large that it crosses a cell border, it might be faded out when one of the cells is unloaded. Try to set "Grids to Load" under File/Preferences/Misc to a higher number (within reason...)

It appears to be appearing now (for whatever reason, I didn't do anything differently) but when I leave the interior I spawn under it, inside rocks, and am dead instantly. On reload of the autosave when I left the house I spawn inside the rock, with no life, but alive.
I remade the navmesh through Recast and everything, anyone have a guess of why this is happening?

I am having the same issue with my mod. I have the common Tavern pasted in the CK, and it is totally gone in-game. Right now, I've worked around it by only pasting a different house mesh in the same area as I had that tavern, and it shows in-game splendidly. I've had problems with parts of roads and with rocks just disappearing in-game too, and had to frustratingly enough workaround by choosing different meshes.

Last night, I posted this on a thread here, and another user told me that it might be missing cells. Really weird and irritating problem this.

I've tried both (I've both copied the tavern right out of Riverwood, and I've created a new for of the tavern mesh in the objects list and placed it). The Tavern won't show with either of the techniques. I've also tried to move the tavern about to new locations, and it still won't show.

When I first encountered this problem, I had a specific part of the road disappear on me. When waiting for a while in the area with my character, all of a sudden, and miraculously, the road mesh just appeared out of nowhere in-game where it was supposed to be. Just baffling.

Yep. Maybe there's a script on that house to make it vanish (like the ones in Helgen that are destroyed in the intro?)

Having the same problem with 3 buildings in my game, they keep dissapearing. Not always from the beginning though, sometimes I'll leave the area, come back and they'll be gone, sometimes with the collision mesh left, sometimes not. I've asked for help on this several times, but not a single reply yet.

I'm also having the issue with appearing in the wrong place when leaving an interior. With the one I made it opens onto a walkway over a body of water, and I come out colliding with the walkway even though I made sure my teleport marker was above the ground.

Existing forms would mean there's two instances of the same form across two cells [possibly] and like you said, if there are any scripts attached to it or any other finicky details it can cause weird behavior. It's no big deal for clutter objects or other assorted static objects but things like building/houses especially in the game where the architecture is as diverse as it is between areas [textures included] it's best to always create new forms with new ID's and strip them of their data. So if nobody has done that, try it and see if that works.

Oh and another thought - I found in Fo3 GECK [maybe its different or changed since] I would have similar issues if I loaded my save game in the tweaked exterior. I found it best to always load a previous save game that loads me into a different area then travel to the tweaked area to see the changes. If the exterior work was good and it was time to move into the interior, then I would save in that exterior area so I could reload that save game and move into the interior to check my work.

I think the problem most peopel are having here is that they don't show up in the game itself.

Yeah, same with me. Sometimes it shows up but then I leave and come back it sometimes dissapears again. It seems just random for me. I don't think the CK visibility is linked because most of the time all my houses in the CK are invisible after I've played the game, and then I set them back, but it never has any effect on them, just a few particular ones. They are sometimes invisible in the CK while being visible in game.
