I think it's a shame...

That the incredibly efficient and powerful T-51b Power Armor is uglier then a Brahmin's rump, while the stiff-servo'd T-45d Power Armor is sixy and dangerous looking. T-51b is better then the T-45 in almost every way except it's hideous look that gives you huge boobs and enormous shoulders. The T-45 armor looks alot more threatening and cool, which is why I choose to wear it despite the loss of agility.

Can we agree on this? FYI, not insulting the helmets, the T-51b is only slightly less sixy in the headwear department.

You got to remember T-51 is designed in the 90's, by not as experienced (if not as great) artists.

However I would also say the current T-51 mesh isn't "right"; the chest piece is too flat.

Agreed, i prefer Fallout 3's APA mk2 look more. Even better is the modded T-51c armor in FWE, that is like a combination of T-51b and APA2. Don't get me started on the classic APA look...

Luckily APA2 and it's Tesla variant is in the game files, and can be added to the player with console commands.

The standard Enclave Armor is ugly too, until you get Gannon's set of armor. All that electrical [censored] arcing about the armor also looks pretty damn scary/awesome.

T-51b and the "real" APA look the best I think. T-45's look weak and primitive in comparison.

Brotherhood T-51b's (AKA, all of them) in particular look awful, and there is only 1 non-BoS T-51b in New Vegas that I know of. The standard version doesn't look too shabby, actually.

I like the way it looks (thats the way it should look). Second the last thing the military is going to care about in the middle of the war is "does this look sixy? I mean its more effective then the T-45b and it will save thousands of lives but is it sixy?

You can occasionally buy non-faction T-51b[along side faction] from The BoS. Assuming your a member.

No, but it wasn't by the army but graphical designers, who should care if it looks "sixy", or in other words, aesthetically pleasing. Just look at female armor in most games ;)

The main thing that offends my eye in the T-51b is that giant valve handle on the back. I just can't imagine what purpose it's supposed to serve.

Edited for clarity, i hope :D

The T-51b armour in New Vegas looks like it should just like it does in the original fallouts. As for female armour there would not be female power armour just power armour.

Exactly, most armours in the game are debatably 'moldable' IE, can be matched with your body figure, but T-51b isn't flexible, it's alot forged and welded components. It makes sense six is identifiable only when you see them helmetless or speak to them.

As for which I like? I like T-45d in terms of Retro feel, but the T-51b is very sleek and powerful looking, the fast differences in style I feel are because the T-51b and Chinese Stealth Armor and other cutting edge technologies, show humanity was on a possible turn from 'AMERICA!' into a modernization by our standards, and the war, thankfully, halted this, I love that 1940's feel to the game world.

Yep I would totally agree...kinda strange that you would thank a global nuclear war for anything though...

Yeah, found most of the original armour and weapon designs brought in to Vegas to be pretty ugly. (guessing that's where they're from and why they look so clunky ?) Also the new reinforced combat armour variants look awful imo.

Loved the F03 weapon/armour designs, the concept art was amazing. Still find myself draw to the original gear over the new stuff (besides traditional fire-arms brought in to Vegas, they were decent).

Well, the Combat Armor Reinforced looks spot on to the old ones, but as much as I use CM, R2, It looks pretty clunky, but I still wear it.

Stuff is supposed to look, clunky! *points to the retro-future clunky robots and computers from the 40's and 50's* Same with the energy weapons too! :D

From what i've seen of the classics, Bethesda did a good job 3D-ifying the armor and weapons, yes.

The second point was that i'd imagine the aesthetics of armor and weapons are taken into account when they are designed, i guess the example was a bit misleading  The T-51b was propably designed to look like heavy duty wargear, but personaly i just don't like it

I think it's because of the engine. There would be way too many clipping bugs if they made it to proportion.

If you could mod armors, I want a servo upgrade for my T-45d please! T-51 just gives you boobs and looks... bad.
