Um... I think you forgot the Daedra.

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 7:49 am

So I've been going through the game files, and I noticed that Bethesda seems to have forgotten to include the files for most of the Daedra. (And it looks like they were gonna include Centaurs at one point- their skeleton file is still there, but no models, unless they're wierdly in another directory)

We have Fire, Frost and Storm Atronachs... but that's it.

Um... what about Dremora, Clannfears and Scamps? At least?

I get they're not a priority because the game's not about Daedra this time, but they've been a staple of the series since Daggerfall. If you cut them out, you might as well cut out Imperials, since they've been in even LESS games. So, where are they?

In case you forgot, the way to Oblivion is shut.

It was made by those who are dead, and the dead keep it.

And yet people can summon Atronachs just fine and from the looks of things, Sheogorath and Nocturnal show up in person.

So your argument doesn't hold water.

In case you forgot, Oblivion wasn't "open" in Morrowind either, but there were still plenty roaming about.

Daedric realms exist. Beth and reviewers have confirmed this.

In case you forgot: the way to oblivion was closed in all other TES games and in the biggining of OB. And the end. Conjurors have alwase used magic to pass throught the barrier.

I don't see why there would be, the portals were shut down 200 years ago. No Oblivion portals = No clannfears, dremora, nor scamps.

I thought in oblivion you closed off the ability for oblivion to manifest itself in the material plane, and since it couldn't before and conjurers could pull daedra through, it seems you should be able to, but one COULD make the argument that in closing off oblivion you stopped it from manifesting at all, on it's own or conjured. I just don't know.

Spoiler
Also, dagon was killed in Oblivion. This could mean that they, having lost him, may be on their gaurd for invasions of their land. There could be civil wars, fear from having suffered major losses in Oblivion and so on.

Yes, but the dragonfires were lit later, I assume, therefore no more Oblivion portals can open up on Nirn until they go dark again. If they go dark again.

Dagon wasn't killed. He can't be killed. He's a god. The physical manifestation of destruction. Destruction can't exist without him, and he can't exist without destruction. All our buddy Martin did was

Spoiler

Send him back to his realm in Oblivion

Nein. Daedra can only enter Tamriel through means of an Oblivion gate or a conjurer powerful enough to summon them into Tamriel. With the Oblivion gates shut forever at the end of Oblivion I doubt conjurers would be able to sustain anything as powerful as Dremora.

Hm, none of the monster/creature Daedra that I fought to DEATH in the last game? I'm cool with that.

Yes, Oblivion was closed. And yes, that doesn't stop conjurers from summoning SINGLE daedra in. There's a difference between forced summoning and voluntary invasion when it comes to Oblivion manifestation.

And the daedra files may be buried or hidden. I'd wait until I've fought conjurers at different levels to pass judgment. But I'm not really sure what the files generally look like, so that's up to debate.

In which case, Daedra should not have existed in Morrowind.

Maabz they just thought we'd be sick of seeing them after Ob?
