I find that kind of hard to...swallow. I know a lot of people live in cities, but not knowing bacon comes from pigs? Some of the other things are hard to believe as well. Milk? Eggs? Butter? I mean, these things don't just drop out of the sky. I guess I shouldn't be so gob-smacked - I lived in the country most of my childhood and we had cows, pigs and chickens at one time or the other. Plus my aunt and uncle had a cotton farm in California's San Joaquin Valley (loved visiting it). Still, I don't want to hear any more cracks about stupid Americans. :nono:

It does make me curious though - how many of you have had farm animals or lived on or visited a farm? How about a decent sized vegetable garden?

I'm surprised and satisfied.

Finally, a story that shows the stupidity of someone other than Americans.

Have not had a farm or visited a farm or had a vegetable garden but I still knew that bacon is from pigs. And milk is (generally) from cows.

I tend to mix up venison and veal sometimes but that's about it.

If they were raised on McDonalds, I can't blame them.

So we're starting to get over the whole Americans are so stupid phase? Tis a shame. I felt like it was helping us. I still feel like most of the people I meet are incredibly deficient in general common sense, even things that one would assume to be common knowledge. I don't think common sense is quite so common anymore... :(

This can't be accurate, how stupid do you have to be to think that eggs come from plants?

In the information age, you don't need common sense. Just a smartphone.

I can sense the sarcasm but...
A smart phone isnt smart enough to tell a moron that what they are reading is complete [censored] lol. Common sense is very important. But again i am sure you were being sarcastic. I just happen to live in a place where people seem to have an over reliance on smart phones and wikipedia. Effing college...

 I'm a bit skeptical about these kinds of reports tough, it feels like they set it up to create a sensationalist headline.

That's what I was thinking. I think they were spoofing the people giving the questions.

Maybe they actually did learn where bacon comes from, specifically, where on the pig. And the revelation freaked them out so much (and threatened the bacon industry), that they all had their minds wiped. In doing so, they are once again blissfully unaware of what bacon is made out if.

It's a demanding enough job as it is, having to memorize all the answers.
