This forum is taking away my skyrim playing time...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 12:08 am

Im not griping. I think its cool. I never thought i'd be on a forum so much. I usually dislike writing on the webnet. I dislike blogs (god, i have such disdain for that word) and journals and even forums in general.. But, this one i like.

I have my phone with this forum up almost constantly when im playing. Skyrim, forum, skyrim, skyrim, forum. Lol.

Mainly to either help out, or just to see whats up with other people. Or just for some info... Like... I still dont know what side im gunna choose in the civil war... You'd think since im an imperial, i'd choose them... But... Its not easy. Anyway... Im not trying to start yet aaaAnoooother topic about that. (;

Idk. Just thought id see if there were others like me.

Nope. Not alone at all. Every game I play and love, I spend time on whatever forum "feels like home" - this one does for this game. I try to help, and I do enjoy just discussing a fun, loved game with others of like mind.

As to time spent here opposed to time in game: I don't have much issue, since I'm retired. I can game all day, and forum all night. Works for me! *laughing*

Nice! Gotta love being retired, huh. The idea of retirement makes me want to work that much harder, so i CAN retire. Lol.

Whichever game I happen to be playing, it's pretty normal for me to have some forum relevant to the game open in my browser. I like to take mini-breaks here and there, and see what other players are up to or having trouble with.

Obviously, TES games aren't the only thing I've come here to yak about over the years. Once I'm burnt out on Skyrim, I'll probably be playing FO:NV for a while - bought it on sale from Steam a couple weeks back, but haven't even fired it up yet.

By "beat" I guess you mean doing every quest, clearing every location... I haven't done that either. I don't believe I ever even got my character up to lvl 30. FO3 is like TES though... you can wander the wasteland for hundreds of hours if you really want to.

It's just that it gets older, quicker... so samey-samey and bleak, most of it.

I am Commander Suffca and this is my favorite forum on the internet.

I thought I'd leave this place after I hit my first star. Four stars later and I'm still here...Time sure flies by.

Yeah, thats kinda what i mean. I have probably 4-500 hours in FO3. Barely did any quests at all. Side or mq. I think the last quest i did was that tree dude. Lol. And i didnt even save after i did it. Lol. Still... A fantastic game imho.

It's not an absolute place of grace, BUT it is a far cry better than the Bioware Forums. That place is full of some of the rudest nut cases on the planet. If you are not an elite programming wizard or a walking EA gaming encyclopedia you are lower than whale dung.

At least this place has some form of nice, and I mean some.

As an official Fallout fan I felt compelled to underline, italicize, and bold what many Fallout fans hate about Fallout 3, but I will pull myself away from my obligation to get on topic.

I've just finished playing Fallout 2 and its refreshing playing a game that doesn't commit suicide whenever I minimize it and I have been minimizing it a lot to check on this forum.

Time spent on this forum > time spent in a Bethesda modding tool > time spent searching for mods to use > time spent playing a Bethesda game.

Hmm, that's what I said. And three years later it turned out that I did. Of course, about a year into that I discovered CD (Why hide it, GStaff?) and never went back to the game forums for anything other than visits.
