This is the single player "game of he century"

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 2:55 pm

.
Pardon my enthusiasm, but I'm enjoying this too much to keep it to myself. Hell, I've already killed off three companions by sticking my nose where it's too early too belong. The side quests are amazing and they took (stole) enough from "Gothic" to turn this game into the "GOTC"(century) IMO. This is the best single player game I've ever played, including Morrowind. I never thought I'd be able to say that.

had a fun time tonight over 2-3 hours. i was playing a fresh battlemage and I just decided to follow a stream SW for a couple hours and explore. and it was tons of fun. pretty scenery for damn sure. I'm enjoying this game so far much more than oblivion at launch. things are looking very promising.

The attention to detail in this game is staggering. There's an ecosystem, for crying out loud!

And OMG the lore. THE LORE.

I never thought I'd say this, but Bethesda has made a game that's actually better than Morrowind. I mean, yes, there's some gripes I have (the lack of persuasion, for example), but even so, if there was a Game of the Century award, Skyrim would get it.

Actually, this game does feel like a mix of Gothic 3 and Morrowind, just better.

Someone will surely say that daggerfall was better because it had more skills.

I honestly think Skyrim beats all previous TES. I just hope it has enough quests to match my apetite for it! :vaultboy:

Agreed, I honestly haven't had this much fun playing a game since I first went thru the Baldur's Gate series!

Only thing keeping me from giving this a perfect ten is the random crashes.. :)

Hey, if it weren't for the hand-based weapon skills, I'd be stuck using my Orcish Blade of Frost instead of my sixy, sixy Mace of Molag Bal.

I for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

I agree, it takes the best parts of Daggerfall, Morrowind, Gothic and Mass Effect for gameplay and Dragon Age 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Game of Thrones and Conan for visuals (to name a few)

Played it for only 10 hours, and I barley got anywhere, but this is by far my favorite Elder scrolls yet! :D

... so does that mean every TES game to follow will never be as good as skyrim?

hyperbolies aside, i can't decide whether or not this is the best game ever/century (what ever) simply because i have not played it more than 3 days.

if i am still playing it 90 years from now, maybe then i will agree.

I agree Skyrim is a absolutely bloody marvellous game and I am sure Bethesda will sort out the one or two bugs in the next week or two (hopefully)

The century isn't even a quarter done, but I would agree that Skyrim is the best game of the century so far.

I always hate saying 'modders will fix it' but its true...the good folks over at Tesnexus have already fixed a few bugs and I'm sure we'll be seeing an unofficial patch soon enough :P

So, you haven't played more than a 24 hours at the most, and have only seen 11 out of the 100 years in this century, and make a claim like that?

Ridiculous.

Best TES game so far.
Thats from someone who has played them all from Arena (before some smacktard shouts "stop hyping the game")
The content, lore, visuals, mechanics, freedom, hell, even sheer size, it`s just superb. Great job :foodndrink:

Well excuse me for disagreeing, but i think its a buggy God awful mess. Instead of pushing 11/11/11 so hard, they should have set a soft release date, so they could delay it another couple of months to fix the stupid number of bugs, poor AI, and non-existent PC UI. There is nothing revolutionary about Skyrim so far, and while i can see some consolers wetting themselves over the visuals, its painfully average for what PC users have been accustomed to. Even Oblivion had a better UI than Skyrim, and thats saying a lot. The AI runs around in circles, get confused when the player approaches a door- which is painful to watch when the AI is chasing you in combat. Then you have the awfully low res textures for most objects when inspected up close. Skyrim is a painting, best admired from afar, rather than looking at the details.

Then why can't I play anything else? Feels like this game is consuming my life in a way unseen since the last Elder Scrolls game...

I never said it was a bad game, because its not. I said only that its far from revolutionary, and has many problems plaguing it. I would rate it 8/10, a good game overall, with many problems. It doesn't help that the degree of hype has destroyed the minds of people though..
