How so? I either pick them off easily with my archer, or charge them with my melee chars and hack them to bits. While they can be annoying in numbers, they can usually be picked off by tactically retreating and drawing them into an ambush spot.
Even 1 vs 1 for me it is an epic battle. It's not a long fight, but it usually comes down to who has the best accuracy/aim. If they are high above and I'm on the ground, they can hit me easily, where as I have trouble hitting them from below. If there is more than one, I have to retreat, or use paralyze - and I tend to stay away from using it because it feels like a cheap tactic.
I take a lot of damage from archers being that I don't wear armor or clothing with an armor rating, even if I do, I don't last long against them. There was a fort that had ONLY archers patrolling the outside. They literally "held the fort" from me as I couldn't even get to the front gate before my health almost gone.
It got so bad that I had to make an anti-bow script that unequips them(though it doesn't keep them from re-equipping it..this I gotta do some more testing with) as 95% of the enemies in my game now use bows. I can't really complain though, as it keeps the game challenging. Disarm shout does not always work on them either.
I'm also pure mage. I don't use *any* weapon. All spells here. My pick off method is from a cliff or some easily and far enough away vantage point, and rain down fireball hell upon the place. It does not always clear out the outside of a fort, or a group of people.
